What's the deal with the pillowcase? I have not heard of that and am clueless.

It is a large group. You can give individual gifts or 1 family gift. You can spend what you want. Some people do dollar store or oriental trading gifts. I am not giving everyone the same thing. I am making some items and buying some items.

You can take pillow cases, mats for picture frames, etc to guest services. They will have the characters sign them for you. Just include a waterproof pen(s) with it and your cabin number on a piece of paper and put whatever you brought with you in a clear bag if possible. We put ours in a gallon zip lock back. Some people bring the autograph books or the new vinylmation Mickey's. They will sign just about anything I would think as long as the marker doesn't smear on it. We are going to try and pack a photo mat this time, just hoping it won't bend on the way there.

I am considering bringing squares of fabric and having them sign, then making an outfit for my dd.

If you don't me asking, how did you do the DCL logo at the top? LOVE IT!!
 
I wonder since we have so many participants in the FE that maybe we could divide the group in half and have like a Group A & B as far as that goes. Might be easier for some people. Just my two cents though. ;)

I do embroidery and that is a design I have. You could easily make it with felt and do no sew.

The FE is about 8 inches across. That is as much wall space as you have. I think you can stretch it to 9 inches, but I read here on the Dis that the wall space on the Dream, might be a little smaller than on the Wonder and Magic. On the 4 pocket one, you need to have the pockets about 6 inches tall. If you do it much more than that, it may be too long. I made each pocket on the 3 pocket one about 8 inches long. I also made the pockets 11 inches wide and put pleats in them.

You can do the entire thing no sew. Just buy some Steam a Seam and Fabri-tac glue.
 
I think that April 15th sounds like a good cut off date.

The list is up to date. We have 34 families (with 115 people!) That's awesome. So much fun! Some questions....

1) When do you want to have a cut off date? April 15th (that's 1.5 months before cruise date)?

2) I will PM everyone on the list to confirm their participation and update the list accordingly.

3) Let me know if you want a detailed list PM'd to you. (names, ages of everyone by cabin)

4) A week before cruise date, I will have a "map" of which cabins are participating.

I think that's it. Anyone have anything else? or Questions that I haven't thought of?

Congrats on getting your FE. No, you don't need to worry about the fish, it is already there. :thumbsup2 We included a few different color water proof pens with the pillow cases. They look much better in color, at least to me. We also put in a small bag of miniature hershey bars as a thank you.

There is an active list of everyone that is participating in the FE. If you go to the roll call there is a link to the current FE list. The link to the roll call is in my signature at the bottom of my post. You are not at 10 posts yet so you will not be able to send Virginia an email with your info. If you post your info here, next time Virginia signs on she will add you.

We booked gty and are showing a cabin number. I was hoping for an upgrade, but we didn't get one.
 
Good to know! I have never booked gty before, and I actually wrote down a cabin number at one point, but when I called they said it was gty. How about an upgrade to the Walt or Roy Disney suite! Hee-hee hee!!!
 
I was wondering about booking on our own! At one point I called and said I was on a Disney Crusie...and they told me if they knew we were on Disney, they couldn't book us. I thought I'd wait and call back and NOT say I was on Disney! How does transportation from the ship work?

From what I hear, Disney has some sort of arrangement with Atlantis not to book independent. Not sure how much checking they do to ensure that you are not on the ship.

I don't think that this is a bad idea. We, however, would like to be included in both groups if this were to happen...

These are the possible dining rotations according to a DCL rep:

Dining Rotations
EG=Enchanted Garden, RP=Royal Palace, AP=Animators Pallete

EG, RP, RP, AP, EG
AP, EG, EG, RP, AP
RP, AP, AP, EG, RP

We won't know what our actual rotation will be until we check in at the port.

We still don't have a room number either. I have been following a thread on the main cruise board about May GTY and it seems people with early May cruises are just now getting their numbers. So I guess we just wait.
 
Wow this is going to be a HUGE FE exchange- last count we were at over 30 cabins and that's from a few weeks ago! I better get my @$$ in gear and start planning! :rotfl:

Just finished up 3.5 wks of working roughly 6 days/week training (Major IS upgrade at work and I've been training nurses / docs on the new system). Major surgery tomorrow a.m. so I now get to have 2 wks off :worship:....

I hope everything went well with your surgery and you are resting comfortably.
