I know it is early, but I am wondering if anyone else has booked their 4 night cruise to the Bahamas departing Feb 19, 2012. We are surprising our 4 kids with this cruise. They won't have a clue until we pull up that we are taking a Disney cruise. They will be 15 (girl), 9 (boy), 6 (boy) and 1(girl) when we cruise next year.

I would love to hear from any other families going on this same cruise. Once we get a thread going, we can have it linked on the Cruise meet up sticky post. I would love to find friends with the same aged kids to get to know pre-cruise. I especially am interested in finding a female buddy for my 15 yr old daughter to meet and hang out with on the cruise.

Thanks!
Holly

Hi Holly!

My family and I will be on the same cruise! My girls will be 16 & 12, my son will be 2! I applaued you for having the ability to keep this a secret! I'm from the midwest and am so sick of snow and cold, this is all I think about!

Thanks for starting the thread...this will be fun! My daughter (16) doesn't want to go to Vibe without knowing anyone...we've never cruised before...this might work out :)

Hi Beth,

Thanks for the reply. I want to tell them so bad, but I keep thinking of the payoff when they get the surprise. We are going to tell them their dad has to look at a job close to the cruise port.

I know my daughter will be a little hesitant to go to the teen areas not knowing anyone. She will sing karaoke in front of strangers, but is shy about being the first one to speak to someone. Once she knows someone, she is the friendliest and outgoing person ever. It is the room of strangers that intimidate her.

This is our second time cruising, and our first with Disney. We cruised on Carnival last time. My daughter was around 11 or 12 then, so she was that tween age. There was no one in the tween area anytime she went there, so she didn't get that experience at all. With Disney being so popular, I am hoping there are more teens her age.

I just had a baby a few weeks ago. She will be one when we cruise. It will definitely be interesting cruising with a one year old. I think my son was two on our first cruise. It wasn't TOO bad. Just had to make sure he got his nap everyday....or dinner was MISERABLE! We also opted for the early dinner, so he didn't have to wait too long.

Hi guys!

Thanks for getting this started, I tried but I'm so lame when it comes to these things!

I'm Robin, mom to Jenna who will be 13 when we sail. SO excited it's our first cruise ever. Jenna has been wanting to do a Disney Cruise forever, and we finally caved. Hubby is nervous that I will get seasick. And I'm petirfied of feeling trapped.

It's just a little less than a year away.. can't wait! Glad to meet you all!:goodvibes

Hi Robin! Nice to "meet" you too. I requested this thread to be added to the sticky thread on the main page for quick access, but it has not been updated yet.

How many kids are you coming with? Just the 13 yr old?

Hi Holly!

I tried to set one up too, but as I said, I am not that great on the computer!
Yup, just my 13 year old (boy that's hard to admit that she will be a teen shortly!) My others are grown and flown the coop... My twins will be 26 in April and do not like Disney:confused3.

It's our first cruise, and so many questions... but that's why I love the Disboards, I find whatever I need. Before the Boards I had taken my older kids to disney.. and it was horrid, they never ever want to go again! My travel agent sold me whatever she wanted. I knew nothing and trusted her.

So there I was with hubby, 2 14 year olds, and a 10 month... not a good mix.

We wanted to see everything, had hoppers...and it wasn't pretty I can tell you that!

Anyway HI:banana: It'll be great getting to know you and countdown together!

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

Hi All!

We will be on this cruise!!:cool1: We were on the Dream 2/20 and had a blast. It was such a great time that we booked for 2012 right there on the ship.

It will be me, DH, and DD who will be 7. She loved the kids rooms and I think will want to be in them more in 2012.

Can't give away all my secrets!!

One piece of advice-wear your bathing suits under your clothes when you get to the ship. We didn't and my DD wanted to go on the Aquaduck. Fortunately we had our bags (didn't check them with porters-another smart thing!) and I changed her in the bathroom.

Don't do the deterctive agency on the sea day. Too crowded on that day.

Bring a sweater or fleece for at night. It was chilly on the top decks!

Hi Kerrie!

How was the weather on CC and Bahamas for that time of year? And, what kind of room did you stay in?

Glad to meet you!

Both days the weather was high 70s. Perfect for us New Englanders! I wore shorts every day. Bathing suit on CC. Water was cold, but I only went in up to my waist anyway!

We stayed in a Cat 6A. We were upgraded (PIXIE DUST!) from a 9A gty. We loved the vernadah. In 2012 we are over a couple of rooms and are at the complete back of the boat. My dad saw a picture of our 2012 room and said we are on the "butt" of the boat!

What room were you in, or are you going to be in ? We have rooms 9172.:goodvibes

Hello all we will be on this same cruise. We were also on the Feb 20 2011 cruise and we had a great time. This time we have connecting inside state rooms alittle nervous about these rooms. Last time we had connecting oceanview rooms on deck 2 which we loved but I waited to long and they were all sold out I am a DVC member and use points and cash. Let the countdown begin. :)

Hi Tracy.... I just can't wait.. I don't want to wish this year away, time goes too quick, but I can't wait for 2/19/12! Any tips that you care to share?:cool1:

Welcome Tracy! Are yo cruising with any kids/teens?

We are going to have connecting ocean verandahs on the deck 7. Are you able to leave the connecting door open at all times? Or, is it in the way when it is left open?

Yes my son will be 14 and my daughter will be 11 when we cruise. You are able to keep the doors open at all times they do not get in the way. The have a magnet on the bottom of the doors so they will never shut from movement. The ship is amazing the only thing is the pools do get really crowded so my kids did not like to swim in them. Aqua duck was great most we waited was 15 minutes and we had a sold out cruise of 4000 people. The restaurants were never crowded for take out food or for breakfast and lunch at cabanas you could always get a table without a wait. The ship is amazing and the rooms were so beautiful. Any others questions please feel free I will answer them for anyone Also the kids clubs were great.

How was the weather Tracy.. wondering how to pack for next february... but honestly anything over 35 degrees will be hot to us.. What a lousy winter we've had. Our daughter will be 13 for the cruise.. Were your kids kept busy all day.. Did you eat together? Did they have pin trading? K, I'm done for now!:goodvibes
