DISNEY DREAM 4 NIGHT 1/12/14-1/16/14 DREAMin' of a vacation at sea!!!!!!!!!!!

We booked our airfare last night!

It's getting closer! ;)

I'm trying to get the kids to decide what they want to do, not that I will book any of our stuff until they can, doesn't make sense. If need be, DH and I will stay on board with the baby while they go off since we've done Nassau enough times! But I'm hoping we can all go together! :thumbsup2

we got good rates via SWA out of PIT

And we are flying SWA out of BWI, it was cheaper and offered better flight times for us than PHL (plus it is nonstop). Our rates were just okay though

I just got off the phone with member services making our ADRs for the January family WDW/Cruise trip. O>M>G!!!!!

First, the online system doesn't recognize DVC trips and won't let me make ADRs past the180 day mark, so I have to call. :furious:

I booked Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's because every grandkid has gone there on their first trip and this is Hunter's first trip. Cool. Then I thought we should do something special for the 7 year old girl that the boys might like too....dinner in the castle. O>M>G!!!! it was $567.99, pay now please!!! :scared1: Adult meals are $70+ and kids are $43....NO WAY am I going to pay $43 for a kid who doesn't eat much!!!

so I decided that 1900 Park Fare was just as good! :lmao:

oh dear, yes when will they ever fix that DVC snag? ive read reports that some said they linked the DVC res to my experience section of WDW site but haven't tried it myself for 180 mark yet (we arrive on the 11th, so i'm thinking my day is the 15th? have to recheck, glad you posted!). Still can't log into the AP site

we now do lunch @ CP since I don't think we eat enough to justify the dinner price. the rest of family likes breakfast @ DRT, I haven't been there since they changed the dinner menu and went with photo pkg years ago:rolleyes1. I really like 1900 Park Fare:thumbsup2especially how the stepsisters/stepmother tend to pay such special attention to tween/teen boys. My youngest said never again:rotfl:.

Had a less than stellar experience at CM two years in a row a few years back, so we took it off the rotation. Have you eaten there lately?

We ate at Chef Mickey's last in January 2012. We had a great meal and my then-youngest grandson loved all the characters...but he and Pluto really bonded :goodvibes

Our youngest has to have his pictures with Pooh and gang and Mickey and gang. Each one has.

Looking forward to taking our 3 year old dgs back because he had a eye-love affair with Anastasia when he was 4 months old...he was mesmerized and just grinned when she would come around!!! Not so much with Cindy!!! :lmao:

lol I can't wait for 1st Disney trip with 1st grandchild:dance3:

nice to hear CM's is back in fine form, may have to try and figure out how to work it into the trip.

my DIL grabbed BOG dinner res pre cruise but could only find a table for 4...we're hoping that they'll work with us as to GD being 'an extra':confused3.

I've tried for res last two trips there without success, did manage to get them for our Oct trip but the reviews have been rather hit or miss.

I am so excited about the cruise. All I am thinking about is finding stuff for the FE. Does anyone know how updated the list is at the beginning of the thread? :goodvibes

I've read that too....we've had lunch there twice, once in February and once in May....May was head and shoulders better than February! The line looks forboding, but actually moves pretty quickly. We got in line and were halfway to Ariel, and were entering the castle 20 minutes later!

We also had dinner there in May and loved it as well. I had the steak, soooo good, DH had the pork Chop and it was wonderful as well. The onion soup is fantastic and the mussels are to die for!!!!

That's OUR take, I would definitely eat there again!

I've eaten there for dinner a few times. If you already have an existing reservation, I would just go there a couple hours early and let someone at the host stand which is located outside know. There is usually never a problem with adding a few people. And alas, they have already trimmed the menu and increased the prices. According to Disney, they were losing money. They are a tiny fledgling company that is trying to stay above water......said no one ever

90 some degrees here and humid but French onion soup sounds devine!

Tinkerbell - not sure but glad u mentioned the FE gifts, I forgot I have to make DS/DIL one.

Bought GD a Jessie/toy story costume on clearance earlier this spring from Disney store but they sent one two sizes larger. No smaller ones to exchange by the time I received it, but they did get the hat & boot order correct lol. I keep hoping for a growth spurt but something tells me i'll be either attempting to alter it or scrounging for a smaller size somewhere.

Hi, we just put a deposit down on this cruise!!! :cool1: There are 4 of us: DD9 Abby, DS9 Will, DW Helen and me, Jeff. This will be our 6th DCL cruise and the 3rd year in a row on the dream this week. We do the cruise and then go back to WDW for a few days, making use of the extra day off for MLK. It is really an excuse to escape the winter weather and we’ve lucked out each trip. We’ve been able to swim at both Nassau and CC on every trip., so we are either good luck or pushing our luck.

We were considering the Fantasy this year for something different, but then the kids realized we wouldn’t do the parks if we do the Fantasy. They changed their minds and requested the Dream again. You can see who runs our family. Oh well, fine by me.
Jeff.

:welcome: Jeff and family!!! We are happy to have you join us! I'm Stephanie traveling with DH Dave and this will be #12 for us. But this time, for the very first time we are bringing our DSs and their families along for the trip! So we have brand-new cruisers and one is a granddaughter who will be 7 at cruise time! We are doing our Disney time before the cruise though!

Join in the fun!!

Welcome to all the new people. After a little bit of a break from the disboards (people can be so hostile on here and it stresses me out!), I am back!

I have been busy with work, according to supercruiser, making sandwiches!

Thanks for that! Glad you think so highly of me!

This cruise has fallen to the back burner as we are planning on September Disney trip. But we have booked our airfare and decided we (DH and I) will be diving in the Bahamas. The dive company we were looking into actually does the DCL port excursions so we will be forced to book through Disney and pay more. A little bummed but we have used Disney for diving before. We need to think about our ADRs for the WDW portion of the trip, with such a large travelling party, we need to book for a group.

It appears my Little sister, her husband and my youngest niece won't be joining us. They can only go on one cruise and want to do the TA again in May. I think my niece will still be joining us in our room though.

Back to the home improvements, Happy Planning everyone!

It isn't very up to date. I will find sometime to update it this weekend. Sorry!

Sorry part of your group dropped out and you ran into some hostile people. I pretty much stay with my cruise groups and the hostile people seem to not be HERE. I don't understand the people who like to cause problems. Now the Disney boards on FB are becoming the same way. :crazy2:

Well- barring any health issues looks like I will be taking DH on another Cruise and to add to the fun all my adult kids(and one grand baby- ok hes 3) are coming too..and now I'm thinking of adding one more cabin for DH parents! so-For the kids it will be there first cruise and I'd love them to get to do fish extenders...Even as just a couple we had a blast with it last time!! So has anyone started a list yet?

Last Jan I ran my first 5K as an adult- it was the one on castaway Cay.. It was a good experience! We had quite the turn out. Hub, Son and I will be running it again! Hope to have knocked 10 mins off my time :) .. first one was just under an hour.. :)
So anyone can do this. I was only a month post chemo..!

We are getting ready to go on a non-DCL (gasp) cruise. We are going to Bermuda on the NCL Breakway. This will be the first non-Disney cruise in quite a while and the first for the kids. We've never done NCL but it looks like it has a lot to do.
The ship leaves from NYC. I haven't been there since I was a child, so we are going down a few days early to sightsee.
When we get back the kids will be heading back to school. It seems like the summer flew by.....

:welcome: Glad to have h=you aboard!!

WVURunner (Emily) has an FE list on the second page. DH and I are bringing our two adult sons on this cruise with their families, which includes 4 grandkids...7,4,3, and 1. Are you planning on trying to get the three year old into the kids club? We are working hard with ours to get him potty trained so he can go with his two older cousins!

Hopefully since we are getting closer, things will start moving! It's really not that far away!
