Disney Dream 12/29/2011

We're back from the 2 week transatlantic cruise on the Magic! It was so great and we can't wait to get on a ship again  I'm so excited for the better splash zone though because DD got bored with the area on the Magic.

Namsupak & 3CStuart,

I see in your signatures, that you are doing the 15 day Hawaii Cruise in April too! :thumbsup2
We will definitely be there! I'm so excited and can't wait but will be so spoiled with all the sea days. We'll have to make sure to meet up on this cruise. :goodvibes

cmclaura, How did you like country inn and suites? We have that booked for the night before. The parking and shuttle was the big draw. That and I could get a room that sleeps all 5 of us.

Other than hitting Ron Jon's we don't have much planned for the morning before the cruise. It will be hard to break the habit of showing up early at port.

I'll let you know after we stay there on December 28!:lmao:

Who is booking excursions and resies tonight?? I was so excited i have tried twice today just incase their dates or clocks were wrong. I know, I know. I just couldn't help it. I"m like a kid at Christmas!!!!

Is there a fe list for this cruise yet?? It is going to be super fun! I cannot wait! We will be celebrating my hubby's 40th on the 31st!!

I know a few of you have been on NYE cruises before. Is there a special menu that night that is not to be missed or are we ok going to Palo?

For the last three years on the Wonder, it has been Lobster Tails for dinner on NYE . . and they were pretty good size too. Very good. We look forward to it every year. I would book Palo a different night . . . cause I LOVE lobster tails.

Paid in full last night and just made our Palo reservations for dinner (really wanted brunch, but I guess we will have to try our luck when we board)!!!! :cool1: This is going to be our first time at Palo (yes, finally on our
5th sailing) so I am looking forward to it. Now I just have to figure out if I want to really splurge and try out the spa.

We have decided to fly in the night before and are staying at the MCO Hyatt.

See you all in 89 days!!!!!!:banana:

Stayed up late last night to make my ressies and got everything we wanted; although why I bothered, I do not know -- everything was still available this morning!

We're doing Palo on the first night, although I do hope to change that once we board. First nights out are always a bit iffy with adjusting to the sea currents. Brunch and Tea ressies are locked out so hope to arrange that on board. I will cry if I can't get Brunch. Love those salmon mousse spoons, the muesli and those pizzas! I know, very weird combination.

We're booked at Remy for New Year's Eve. So excited. I couldn't believe there was even availability for Remy at all, let alone on that night. Yay!

Port arrival earliest opening was 11am. Will they arrest us if we get there earlier? This is the first time we've encountered the port arrival time booking. If anyone is there earlier, let's meet up and go in on your early card. :worship:

I stayed up late too. But I had to get in later and readjust some thing. We got Palo (well 5 of us - my DS is only 13 so he can't go - he is going to the resturant by himself - his choice - he thought it would be fun by himself, just him and his kindle sitting there - I hope our servers spoil him a little)

We are doing one excursion on Castaway. the hiking and Kyaking one. anyone been on that one? I think it sounds wonderful - just no bathrooms kyaking or on the private beach - eekk!!

They rest of the time we will be just hanging and relaxing. Maybe I'll get to do a beer or martini tasting. that should be fun.

well my countdown is 87 days - we are going out before. and i can not wait for it to get here.

Can't wait to meet everyone!!!

I found that they also served the lobster tails in Palo as well. In fact, they were actually prepared better because they weren't "mass-produced" like in the dining rooms. They actually had a better flavor and texture. Just my $0.02.

Hi, fellow cruisers! I made my reservations first thing this morning. I am in the "I will cry if I can't get brunch" crowd, too! I can't believe it is all booked up!

Anyway, I felt a little disoriented making reservations, since I am still not sure when Pirate night is and I am not sure what my dining rotation will be, but I did it anyway.

I booked Palo for dinner on New Year's Eve and Remy for dinner on the last night of the cruise- Jan 2.

If it is a rotation pattern like AEERA, I'll be able to dine in all 3 regular rooms, but if it is different, I might miss one of them. Does anyone know officially what pattern this cruise is following?

I know I can't wait to get our diner rotations. We have our Palo on Dec 30th. but if that is animators night i'm changing it.

We tried to book nursery time and every night the 10:30 to 11 PM slot is full. Hopefully we can snag that eventually. I don't really want DD up to celebrate NYE. She'll be so cranky by that time. Crossing my fingers we can get it on the ship.

Congrats to all the people that got what they wanted. :goodvibes

Couldn't resist doing a quick photo update on my Avatar . . . to last year's NYE cruise on the Wonder. Updated photo to celebrate 90 days out!!

We are doing the hiking kyaking excursion as well. Can't wait to see part of the island I haven't seen before.

cmlaura- guess we will both a review of countryinn and suites in our trip reports.

My DD and I did this excursion on our very first trip. We had a good time. The guide was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of The Bahamas. Geology, not so much. It was a nice walk out to where we picked up our kayaks. The breeze was at our backs and we glided across the water effortlessly. When we reached our destination, the tide was out, and the water was only about knee deep, so swimming really wasn't possible, but our guide showed us live conchs and starfish and talked about the mangrove ecology. The breeze picked up on the way back, and because it was blowing against us, the return was a bit more strenuous than the arrival. Good memories!

The kayaks have a waterproof comportment, so you can stow a regular camera there until you stop. I'd recommend a waterproof camera, though. It was fun to take pictures along the way.

Logged into Disney Cruise site and found out we got our room assignment today!

Kinda sad though . . was hoping for a FREE upgrade, but looks like we are still booked to share a room with some guy named Philippe Gustavez, from the Animators Kitchen. Hope he's a nice guy!

That's what cha get when you go cheap!!
