Disney Dream 12/29/2011

We have a 5GTY too. It's good to know it will be deck 8 somewhere, with only cabins above and below.

I am jealous of all the 5GY rooms !!!!

On our budget, we had to shack up with one of the Disney Dream dinner servers for this cruise. (I called top bunk!!)

We're very excited to get the 5 GTY, it's just weird for me not having a room number because we've always picked our stateroom in the past. It's neat though because it adds a little more excitement for the trip. :thumbsup2

Hi Lauren,

My DH Paul and I are on this cruise also. Funny, we are both on the WBTA and the NYE Dream cruise. It will be great to already know someone on a cruise. How funny.
I booked this cruise back in January and they only had inside cabins at the time which is exactly what I wanted. I am dying to see the virtual portholes. Don't lend you MIL your luggage before this cruise :rotfl2:. Sorry, I hope you get it back soon for the WBTA. In-laws can be not so much fun sometimes.

We just booked this cruise today!:banana:

I'm Lauren and coming with me will be DH, James, and DD, Lorelei (2). We're from West Virginia. The only thing left was a Category 5GTY. We've never done GTY before and I hope I can stand it not knowing what room we're in, but I'm just excited that we were able to get the vacation days for this trip.

We're getting ready to go on the WBTA so all my planning efforts are being focused on that right now. Once we get back I'll have to get all sorts of planning done for this trip. Can't wait to get to know you all. :goodvibes

By the way, we are Paul and Sue and this will be my 5th Disney Cruise and second NYE cruise. We took my Mom on the Wonder NYE 2009 I think it was and had an awesome time. Disney sure knows how to throw a party. If you could please add us to roll call, that would be great. :yay::yay: Can't wait to meet everyone. As I mentions before we are on the WB Transatlantic is 2 1/2 weeks. So exicited.

I just paid off our cruise. I can't wait till December!!! I'm like a little kid waitting for Santa. This will be my husband (jason) and daughter(lauren) first cruise should we purchase the sea bands or not? I don't know if they work or not?

We actually paid off our cruise last week too!! Well we paid most of it... The other part we are working off by washing dishes 3 nights at Palo.

I've asked my TA to appy the payment on Monday. :cool2: Maybe then they'll finally assign me a room!

You know you are a disney freak when calling the TA and paying off the cruise heads the list of things to do before the power goes out.

I will be annoyed if I the power is still out when it's time to pre-book Palo. Our utility is telling us at least half the state will be out for an unknown period post Irene.

:lmao: about the disney freak thing. Yep.

If your power is out at the magic hour, you will just call me and I will do it from my end! I will be up, it's won't be midnight here! We will be Palo-ing!

:cool1:I paid off the cruise today and made all my reservations! :cool1:

Palo dinner, Palo brunch, Remy, Cabana, Bottom fishing, Sting Ray adventure.:thumbsup2

So I just checked us in for this cruise as well and was sort-of paranoid that we'd miss the early port arrival times since I sort-of forgot to check in first thing this morning.

I was pleased to see the following message when I hit the port arrival time page:

"Since your travel party includes Platinum or Concierge Guests, you are not required to select an arrival time. You may arrive any time during embarkation hours and board the ship at your leisure after check-in. "

We aren't really looking for any shore excursions on this cruise, so we'll pay off towards the end of September.

For the platinum and concierge cruisers, when you made your Palo ressies which days were available for brunch? Normally it is only sea days but I thought it might also be during the CC days too.

I'm trying to plan out my strategy when I'm able to book in a few weeks.

TIA!

Congrats to all the people that get to book excursions and arrival times already. I'm so jealous. I just hope that we can get a good arrival time. We don't really want to go to Palos this time around so don't have to be upset about that one.

I paid off today, and was able to book Palo dinner however brunches and high tea were gone.

Hi everyone! We will be on this cruise too - have had it booked since forever but just now starting to get more excited since its getting closer and we paid it off this week!!:cool1: This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise (the other two were on the Wonder).

We have a great group cruising with us - 4 families with 8 kids (DS 14, DS12, 2 DDs 12, DD 11, DS 10, DS 9, DD 8) and we are meeting up Stacey6274 so we are all looking forward to it! 2 of us have cruised before and the other 2 families this is their first Disney cruise - I think we are all doing the FE but still need to verify with everyone!

Looking forward to hanging out more on the boards now that we are within our 4 month window!

Laniesmom33 - Barb, Mike, DD12, DD8 :yay::yay:

:welcome: I've added you to roll call. It's great to travel in groups! My sister and her daughter are cruising with us on this cruise and in April, there are 20 of us doing a MR. Can't wait for New Years on the Dream!

:welcome: I've added you to roll call also but I want to clarify if you are on the Dream New Years cruise or the Wonder New Years cruise? We're a fun bunch and hope you are sailing with us ;)
...

Hope everyone had a safe and sane Labor Day. I know a lot of the kids are starting school today. We are a month into our school year already. DD and I did a fundraiser for her basketball team yesterday. It was hot but it was successful :-) Been busy on that for a few weeks now. I'm hoping to get some work done today but I'm busy playing catch up so I guess work will have to wait until tomorrow

We set sail in 114 days! Whoo hoo! I can't book until 90 days and the only thing I would want to book is Palo brunch or tea if they have it. I'm okay on excursions, spa, Remy and Palo dinner. I'm looking forward to 5 days and nights of relaxation and come what may. My sister sent me some navigators. I'm going to go through them to see if there is anything I absolutely must do on the ship and go from there.

I've got my dates for WDW: 12/15, 16, 17 and I will have one more day on my 4 day pass to use, playing that one by ear. DH and DD (15) are coming in late on the 17th. I'm glad that we will miss the majority of the crowds. DD 15 is staying until 1/7 so she and my sister & niece will be going the 4 days after the cruise. Our passes are blocked out for December 26 - 31, 2011.

Well, that's my planning thus far in a nutshell.

Everyone have a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious week!

Linda
