Disney Dream 12/29/2011

Can't wait, two weeks from today!!!! Hope the weather will be nice! Shopping this weekend for so last minute items.

Its been years since I have been on a Disney Cruise and I am so behind on my research! Scanned the pages of our roll call but still have some questions I hope you can help with.

Dinner Rotations - Do we know what they are yet?

New Years Eve - Is that the only "fancy attire" night?

What is a MUST DO on this ship? Will be with my DH and 21year old DS and another family we met (at our dinner table!!) on our first Disney Cruise in 1999 and have stayed close with ever since.

Thanks!!!

Welcome PBMom! I can't answer your questions :confused3...this is my 1st Disney Cruise. I figure I'll eat wherever they tell me I can :lmao: and I'm bringing 1 dress for the semi-formal night.

I fly out in 1 week :cheer2: Getting excited!

Hello all,

This is my new account, used to be Krada but somehow lost account. Would love to play fish extenders on our new years cruise, if anyone is still playing. If so there will be 4 of us 3 teenage boys 14 15 and 16 and me 49, names are Sean,14 Bryan,15 George,16 and kathy, older than dirt. Can't wait for the cruise!

Welcome aboard! I don't think dining rotations are assigned until a few days prior to sailing. That's what I have been told. However, if you don't like your dining rotation, you can always request a different rotation once on board.

We only have a semi-formal night on the schedule I believe. That said, I am sure there are many that will be dressing formal on New Years Eve. I have only brought semi-formal dress.

It's nice to meet friends onboard a Disney cruise. We've meet some of, and keep in touch with, some of the greatest people!

Hi Kathy! Welcome back with your new Dis name. Unfortunately, the official FE gift exchange for this cruise closed December 1. Many of the participants have completed their gifts and others are already in Florida.

That being said, I do not mind doing a "side" FE exchange so you and your boys can receive a gift or two. Just post your cabin number up here and I will be glad to participate.

If anyone else can participate in this side FE exchange, just let Kathy know by posting up here that you can participate. This is a "side FE exchange" and has no effect on the original FE exchange list.

Kathy, the FE list is in my signature below so you can reciprocate to anyone who participates in this side exchange.

Like you and others....I can't wait for this cruise either!

We are in single digits. A week from Thursday. Can't wait to be on board.

What is the latest on getting a group together for Brunch?

Linda

Its our first cruise as well, I asked awhile back about new years and dress attire mainly for dh, but didn't get a response. I plan to wear a semi formal dress, and shirt and tie for dh. We have a son who's 7 and cannot wait for next week. Hoping to meet up so we have some familiar faces to say hello to!
See everytone soon

Hi all,

Pengwend has provided their stateroom number: 8650

If there are any changes to the original FE list such as a last minute cabin change on board, post on my door #9047 or any other notes you want to leave re the FE can be posted there.

One week from tomorrow! Ready, set, sail!

We leave tomorrow for a 4 night cruise to Cozumel on Carnival. I'll check in once we get back :)

I think that this is a first time for a lot of us on the Dream. There is a thread called "Cruise secrets that DCL doesn't tell you". It is located here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1380936 This thread is chock full of info on all 3 ships and may have some ideas that are only on the Dream. Also, a look at the previous navigators: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/cr-stateroom-navigator.htm will give you a great idea of the activities that are on board. I've downloaded the 5 day navigators and marked the activities that interest me so I can look for them on board. Some of them require tickets, such as alcohol tastings and tea with the princesses, if offered. You get these at guest services once you board. If you are unsure if any event requires a ticket or not, stop by guest services and ask what activities on this cruise will require a seperate ticket. They can tell you then. Don't hesitate to ask. :thumbsup2

Meet and Greet I've looked at some of the other posts and it appears that people are meeting at:

The Bon Voyage in the main lobby, deck 3. The fire drill starts at 3:45. We can meet 3:15-3:30?

Any interest?

Linda

Hi Linda,
We are definately interested in meeting with everyone before the fire drill. Looking forward to it!!!
Debbi

With the policy change about 18 year olds still in high school now no longer being able to be part of the Vibe, my daughter will be going to the college age meet, whenever the first one is. Any others in the same position?

Has anyone checked the recent Navigators to see if anything else is scheduled around 3pm? I seem to think something was but of course can't find my copy.

We do want to make the meet in the Bon Voyage at 3:15. Look forward to meeting all of you!

I can't help with the 18 year old still in HS. I haven't kept up on that policy even though both my girls, a few years from now, will be placed in that position should we choose to cruise between 18th birthdays and graduation.

Looking at the old navigators I have, there is a ship tour at 1:00 and again at 2:00. A spa tour at 1:00 and a spa raffle at 3:15-3:45. There is also a DVC celebration that runs 2:30-3:30.

I'm open to other time suggestions for the greet and meet. I don't plan on attending the spa raffle and unfortunately, we are not DVC.

I'm certainly going to join one of the ship tours though. I finally did that on the Wonder last time and it was truely informative :thumbsup2

Ahhh, that was it -- the DVC Celebration. We're members and I was planning to attend that. Have to get my ticket into the raffle for free money, lol.

I don't know why they're doing it the first afternoon out, though. Odd.

I'm open to meeting folks in the cruise terminal, too -- we did that last cruise and it was great. I will try to get to the meet before 3:30....will have my husband wait for the raffle!

It just occurs to me that we'll be gathered in the terminal at this time next week, waiting to board.

Oh, my posting about my 18 year old was not with regard to the meet; just trying to see if anyone else is in the same boat. :rotfl:

I wanted to go to the DVC gathering but on the first day is just a pain....

I'd like to do a meet when ever, where ever.

We can have an informal meet in the terminal. Laura and I are going to meet prior to boarding in the terminal once we get checked in at 11. Is there a good place to meet? I'd either suggest the area next to the escalators which I think is vacant or at the row of seats at the ship end of the terminal next to the windows (by the room they use for celebrities). Any other ideas?

We used the area to the right of the top of the escalators for our prior-to-boarding meet. It was really easy to be seen there (there is a seating area) and to look for folks coming up off the escalators.

If you're looking for me, we're fairly easy to spot. The three of us are larger people: I'm 5'6" with long gray/brown hair, my husband has the widest shoulders you've ever seen, lol, and my daughter is blonde and about 5'11".

Merry Christmas everone!!! My daughter Lauren now knows she is going on the cruise. I tape it on the ipad and it was great she started to cry.Three more days and haven't pack a thing but no more secerts!!!!!

Merry Christmas! We leave for wdw tomorrow and have yet to get anything packed! :scared1: see you all Thursday!!:cool1:
