Disney dream - 01-30-11

Hello All - I'm glad to announce I will be joining you all on this cruise! After a week of anticipation, FINALLY, I received confirmation that I will be part of the AEP at 7:00 PM tonight! Remarkably, air went down today, that never happens! However, my flight gets in at 3:50 on Sat. If any of you experienced with the training see this as a problem, please PM to let me know.

A little about me, Texas native, this will be my 8'th Dis Cruise, sadly leaving my awesome family at home and coming solo. (excited, but feeling a little strange at the same time) We just returned from a fabulous Christmas 11 night on the Magic. I believe I have sailed with a couple of you before in the last year...recognizing disnames. I normally participate in FE, but it looks to be a little late.

I look forward to meeting you all. Thank you for the previous PM and posts about this cruise. Time to get ready!

I love getting docs. And I know in this world of electronics there are fewer and fewer GOOD envelopes delivered to our homes.

That is so true. Even though you know you don't really need that little package, it just makes you feel good to get it... and it means the cruise is right around the corner!!

I started going through clothes, I'm trying to limit it to one bag for the three of us. Unfortunately, it seems I may have over indulged during the holidays... quite a few items are a bit snug around the middle.

Some of the original schedules listed activities mid-afternoon. Those have been dropped as the group continued to grow. But the time for arrival never changed. So, I think if you have no flight delays you'll be fine.

It's kinda fun to anticipate a bonus cruise that will help with your job!

See you next Saturday.

Congratulations!!! Woo Hoo!

Welcome Jill, added you to the roster. Will post it again early next week!
Getting SOOOO close. With all today's christening activities we'll have plenty to look at to keep up occupied!
Laura

watching the christening right now:yay:

Kyla, You're not the only NW kid on this cruise... I was born and raised in Portland, I just happen to be living in Richmond, Va now. :rotfl: Are you really at the end of the Lewis and Clark trail...? I love that area. My family used to own a house at the beach, although a little bit further south from the end of the trail.
Only 13 more days:banana::banana: Can't wait to meet everyone!!

Yep, I'm in Oregon City, end of the Oregon Trail, on the last hill before it drops down to the Willamette River. I can't wait. I hope its going to be warm. I remember one year, we froze. I guess I better pack a sweatshirt and pants this time. But I'm soooo hoping for above 70 degrees. 75 is like summer to me. Disney booked me on a flight with a connection in Denver. I hope it doesn't snow and I get stuck in Denver. Isn't there one person on this thread who is from Denver? I thought I saw someone.

My mom (jiminyC_fan) and I are from Denver! We are flying out on Tuesday and I am hoping we don't get snowed in!

Christening was very nice! Leave it to Disney. My only thought, it would have been a nice touch to finish it off with the horn on the ship blowing one of its 7 possible tunes.

Man, I lucked out on airfare. RT from Providence, $211:thumbsup2 Checked again today, it was $209 just for the flight I am taking down...phew...

All my TA colleagues, I emailed to find out when we would get a ressie number, response was, by the end of the week. Just in case you too were wondering.. ;)

Hi,
The kids and I are going FE shopping tomorrow, too! I'm excited! My generous 4 yr. old wants me to get everyone a huge Toy Story Lego set- I'm going to have to rein him in a bit :goodvibes
Kristina :)

I would have loved to hear the horn as well! SOON!!

AEP... I did think the room assignements were a little slow in coming...sound like matching room-mates may be part of the issue.

Received Cruise docs today addressed to my name, agency, attn my name. I GOT SO EXCITED thinking they were MY cruise docs. Tore into that envelope -- client's Feb. documents.:rotfl: Yea for them!
I guess I'll get my docs in 10 days.

Yeah, I am wondering about the room assignments myself. :confused3

Hahaha...Yeah, they said we get our docs next Saturday when we check in. I have not received my 2011 CLIA card yet. They told me to bring a copy of my app from CLIA just in case they ask for it.

Hard to believe a month ago I was thinking I would have to wait till August when I do this with my family..and here it is 10 days to go. :cool1:

Did they ever blow the horn? I didn't get to see the whole show but thought they would blow the horn at the end at least. But nothing or I missed it.

Well I watched start to finish...NO HORN...

I know sounds petty, but the horn is the ship! It is what sets DCL apart from others...well that a few other things... :lmao:

My count down is down to the single digits!!! 9 days to go! :yay: :yay:

Good morning everyone!:)

Yes, I'm right by you I'm in 6678.

So how often does the airport close or flights get delayed during the winter?:confused3
Whats the forecast for January 29th?
Are you going to Disney World first? Thats why you are leaving on Tuesday?

I was able to get my Disney Cruiseline Confirmation number. Cannot book anything online as it is not in "fully paid" status. They did ask me for the name of the person I'm traveling with (turns out she was listed as the lead guests)...so you may have to do some fancy talking if you don't know your roomies name and you're not the lead guest. I have a great room assignment, but I'm thinking that could change 8 times between now and the 30th!

I was able to check-in online. I'll be checking back often to see if it gets "paid."

Thankfully they also let us know that they will be notifying us about the land portion of the trip as well.
