Disney dream - 01-30-11

Packing is hard here, because the kids don't know (and won't until Saturday when we leave) and I have had my older one home sick from school until today this week (he's all better now!) I've been doing what I can on the sly.

Can't find all my old magnets, so my door will be pretty dull this time, oh well!

That is so sweet that you are telling the children at the last minute.

This will be the first time that we will decorate our door. Will not have a lot of magnets compared to what we have seen on other cruises but we will have our fair share.

My daughter, will have a terrible day at work tomorrow because she is so excited. Hope that some of the customers do not get food that looks like Mickey Mouse :lmao:

I surprised my girls too. They found out last night. I had a photo puzzle made of the Dream with "Surprise!!! You're going on the Disney Dream!". It was great, they worked so hard on the puzzle, they were looking so confused because I didn't put the date. Finally they asked when and I told them we were leaving Saturday. They were doing that squealing/scream thing little girls do when they are excited and dancing around the house. :rotfl:

what a fun story!

Ok, I'm packing. Was going to leave tonight but we decided to get to the dogs to the dog sitter in the morning and then off to the airport for our 730am flight.:yay: Hope nothing happens on the way. See ya Saturday!!!!

What a day!

Step 1. Wake up 30 minutes before alarm. Get dressed and wait patiently for mom and hubby's (he drove us to the airport).

Step 2. Confirm for the 100th time flight is on time and you know what gate you're going to.

Step 3. Stop for a quick bite at airport food area since you still have an hour before boarding.

Step 4. Freak out when cell phone rings and it's your airline letting you know you're 8:45am flight has been delayed until 1pm (our connecting flight in Charlotte just happens to leave at 1pm!)

Step 5. Run like crazy woman to gate to see how to fix the situation. On the way, glance at departure screen and see that the plane is now canceled!!!

Step 6. Try not to take frustration on gate agent while she attempts to re-route. Dance for joy when it turns out the flight at the next gate has seats and it's leaving NOW! Only concern is it's flying north to Philadelphia where the new connection to Orlando is waiting (no snow flurries, no snow flurries PLEASE).

Step 7. Get to Philly, walk quickly to other side of terminal, have 5 minutes to breathe before boarding begins.

Step 8. After playing seat tango so mom and I can sit together, wait patiently to get in the air already. And wait, and wait, and wait. Finally find out there was a indicator malfunction that is now fixed but the paperwork portion of the fun is still going on.

Step 9. After waiting another 15 minutes to documentation to be filled out by everyone up in the cockpit, and waiting another 10 minutes for our turn to take-off, we're in the air!

Step 10. Nearly kiss the ground when we land at 1:00pm, which is earlier than original flights would have gotten us here. Get rental car. Drive to port to find hotel and check in. Find anything that looks like food for lunch (remember last meal was at 7am). Find out room has a balconywatch so we watch the Magic sail past.

We're here. We're ready. See everyone tomorrow! I'm getting on that ship even if I have to walk to the port! :rotfl:

A fabulous cruise on a beautiful ship. So glad I was able to go on the cruise. Sorry I was not able to make it to the cruise meet, by the time we finished our tour and lunch, I missed it.

THANKS to everyone who participated in the FE. We enjoyed our surprises! Thanks for your thoughtful gifts. :)

As wonderful as it was, I'm glad to be home! Until Next Time!

My DD and I are presently still in FL at the Boardwalk, flying out in the morning. All we have been talking about is the next cruise.

Wasn't this a fabulous cruise?

we tried to meet people at 3pm but couldnt find anyone :(

still had an amazing cruise.. and we've booked another one for next april.
Thanks for all the FE gifts and well wishes, we truly did have a dream honeymoon.. we were actually thinking how much fun it will be to cruise with kids in the future
