What a day!
Step 1. Wake up 30 minutes before alarm. Get dressed and wait patiently for mom and hubby's (he drove us to the airport).
Step 2. Confirm for the 100th time flight is on time and you know what gate you're going to.
Step 3. Stop for a quick bite at airport food area since you still have an hour before boarding.
Step 4. Freak out when cell phone rings and it's your airline letting you know you're 8:45am flight has been delayed until 1pm (our connecting flight in Charlotte just happens to leave at 1pm!)
Step 5. Run like crazy woman to gate to see how to fix the situation. On the way, glance at departure screen and see that the plane is now canceled!!!
Step 6. Try not to take frustration on gate agent while she attempts to re-route. Dance for joy when it turns out the flight at the next gate has seats and it's leaving NOW! Only concern is it's flying north to Philadelphia where the new connection to Orlando is waiting (no snow flurries, no snow flurries PLEASE).
Step 7. Get to Philly, walk quickly to other side of terminal, have 5 minutes to breathe before boarding begins.
Step 8. After playing seat tango so mom and I can sit together, wait patiently to get in the air already. And wait, and wait, and wait. Finally find out there was a indicator malfunction that is now fixed but the paperwork portion of the fun is still going on.
Step 9. After waiting another 15 minutes to documentation to be filled out by everyone up in the cockpit, and waiting another 10 minutes for our turn to take-off, we're in the air!
Step 10. Nearly kiss the ground when we land at 1:00pm, which is earlier than original flights would have gotten us here. Get rental car. Drive to port to find hotel and check in. Find anything that looks like food for lunch (remember last meal was at 7am). Find out room has a balconywatch so we watch the Magic sail past.
We're here. We're ready. See everyone tomorrow! I'm getting on that ship even if I have to walk to the port!
