Seeing the picture of Anakin with his ice cream I decided that I am changing my antenna topper today.

Love it!!!

None of our cars have antennas!

I love having different toppers to suit different moods. When I went last year I bought a bunch. I gave some to friends and family and kept the Mickey ice cream for myself. I did get a Monorail one that I wished I had kept for myself that I will be picking up again.

That's a great idea! I got a Christmas topper for my parents and a friend of theirs. I should see if there is anything new. It would be a nice surprise for my mom. She is really feeling the pressure of taking care of my dad after his strokes. She needs a another dose of magic.

I should send her some of the magic that Anakin got on Monday at the MK. But I am getting ahead of myself, as I haven't gotten to this Monday and all the wonderful magic that was sprinkled on us!!

Another thing I pick up are pens and pencils. It's something that my mom has always done and I started doing it to. Then if my kids have a friend they want to give something to or any of us does we have it.

I had a stroke in 2007 I know how hard that can be. My thoughts and prayers go to your parents.

Ah....the magic!!! Maybe you can get some more of the magic, and send to your mom??? That would be nice!! I haven't uploaded those pictures yet from Monday, I better do that before things go outta hand with my sister being here!!!

We stay away from pencils. Grumpy is allergic to latex. When we do get pencils we make sure they are from Moon, although Dixon now makes #2 pencils without latex erasers. It was difficult to find pencils when he was a little kid. So glad companies are seeing the increase in latex allergies and making erasers without!

I'm sorry to hear you had a stroke.

We joke with my dad that he is like a cat. There are so many times he should have been dead and by the grace of God he triumphed through it. The biggies being a brain aneurism in the 80's, too high levels of coumadin causing his brain to bleed in 2010, and the strokes that followed it. He is making great recovery and progress! His goal is to be able to ride his bike at my house in May 2012 and make it to Grumpy's graduation! My mom works hard with him on his therapy and recovery.

Back to AK!!

We got off Kilamanjaro Safari just in time to catch the parade. We rarely stop to watch it.

Anakin was in total aww of this cm. He couldn't believe she was pushing/pulling her costume. We were at the end of the parade, and it was a very hot day. She kept smiling. It looked like it was very heavy to move.

As I look at these pic now, the music is going through my mind.

After the parade we left the park. Walking out to the parking lot, we passed by tons of ants. I have never seen this many big, black ants all at the same place at Disney. They covered 3 whole, huge slabs of concrete. Anakin didn't want us to hurt any of them. It was hard to walk without stepping on one somewhere. He was so worried about the ants.

Got in the car and headed off to TGI Friday's at Cross Roads...YUM!! We no sooner got inside the door of Fridays and the skies opened up and the rains came pouring down. Bouncycat was at DHS. I texted her that it was pouring cats and dogs here.

Thank GOD we didn't get it!!! Musta stayed away from the parks for that day!! Unless this was the week we were there with Kim? I get sooooo turned around on days and visits sometime!! LOL

Which now leads us to Magical Monday of this week!! Our plan was to head to Disney after Anakin's neurologist appointment. I think he cherishes the quietness of the house when we are all gone.

We were off to a late start. Anakin was hungry after his appointment so we stopped back home to get him breakfast. He only had time for an apple before the appointment, and that just didn't cut it. With belly fed, we headed off to meet bouncycat and Tyler at the MK. They were headed to Tom Sawyer Island while we were headed to WDW!

My husband thought I was nuts taking pictures of the restrooms at the TTC. Just FYI, there are 2 sets of buildings with bathrooms there. Most people know about the ones near the bus stops, but very few people know about the ones at the ferry. I'm almost afraid to give away my secret. It's wonderful to be able to head there at holiday time without a wait!

Here's the one by the bus area.

And here's the one by the ferry area. The men's room is to the left of the soda machines.

This area, is where we use to meet people for the MouseFest meets. I miss them!

The ferry was just pulling up as we got there. So we got right on! But it waited a long time for more people. When it pulled away from the TTC it was packed on both levels.

The security check at the MK was a joke. The person in front of me walked through with a bag on her shoulder never checked. I asked the security guard why he didn't check it. He didn't have an answer. He didn't check my camera bag either and I had it opened for him.

Going through the gate my pass worked!! That's a first! Anakin instantly spotted the Mickey sparkles that were from park opening. He wanted to pick them all up off the ground to keep. Tyler and bouncycat were waiting for us at Casey's so I used that as the excuse not to pick them up off the ground as souvenEARS.

I needed to stop at Guest Services quick. While I was there I asked the cm if she had a couple pieces of Mickey sparkles I could give him. Maybe one for each hand. She said she would see what she could do. She left and came back with a small leather sachel FILLED with Mickey sparkles!!!!!! That was the first of Monday's magic!!

This was the week with Sammi? If Kim is the mom's name, then yes.

great photos of the parade....we missed it in April, but definately seeing it in Oct! I love it!

Thanks. Anakin didn't even remember it from before, so it was like seeing it for the first time. He loved it. I hope you get to see it!

We have reservations for the Rain Forest Cafe on Oct 15th, so we will be at AK that day if you would like to see it together!? Both EasyWDW and TP have it listed as the best park.

I am pleased that they finally are paying attention to the latex allergy too. It is about time.

Thank you. I still have a few problems with nerve pain associated with my stroke, but I have full range of motion back and that is what matters.

Your dad sounds amazing. When I was in rehab there were so many young people I was amazed. Strokes are another thing they really need to pay attention to.

Love the pictures from the parade. How great was that CM to go and get that for Anakin. That is the Disney magic at work.:goodvibes

That's great you have full range of motion. Dad does too! His vision, speech, and cognition were slightly affected. He's come a long way in a year! He's a bit impulsive so no driving for him yet. Not sure how the bike riding will go, but he is doing killer on the stationary bike! He is 77 years young. He use to be able to out walk me, and biked many miles a day.

He was so thrilled with the Disney magic! I will keep it in my bag, so that when he feels the urge to take it off the ground he will have his own.

I was actually lucky with my stroke. I was affected with temporary being paralyzed on my right side. Mostly my shoulder, arm, and hand. I had to learn to walk again. I was scared to death about driving again. I waited over a year to try. I didn't have and vision, speech or cognition problems.

I think your dad is amazing, and I think he and my husband would get along famously. He lives for his bicycle.

I guess if something has to go wrong, it's best if it's temporary! I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to learn to walk and drive a car again. You are amazing too!

My dad lives for the bicycle too. The stationary bike just isn't the same. But he would need someone riding with him and a place where there's no traffic. He might not remember to stop for cars or people. Multitasking is not a possibility at the moment.

I had an interesting conversation with him last night about Downtown Disney. He didn't remember it at all. In fact, he didn't remember what a tunamelt was. After we hung up, he and my mom had a discussion about it. She called me back and said he remembers now. He would like one in May when they come!

Back to the MK!!

The magic continued. Since heat is a trigger for seizures, we traveled down Main St. USA by avoiding the street and going through the shops! There is so much new merchandise. New hats that are so cute, new ears, new Mad Hatter type hats. We were trying to get to bouncycat and Tyler who were waiting for us at Casey's Corner. Anakin saw too many pin lanyards that caught his attention. By the time we got to the last store before Casey's Corner he had traded for two different dalmation pins that he thought were soooooo cute!!

As he and Goofy stopped to trade pins with Chris from Michigan who is in the college program, I headed to Casey's to find bouncycat and Tyler. I was very hungry. My stomach was growling. Casey's is closed for refurbishment. To get Anakin his chicken nuggets, our choices were Cosmic Ray's or Columbia Harbour House. They chose Columbia Harbour House.

Pin trading between Anakin and Chris took a very long time. They were deep in coversation. It gave our bodies plenty of time to cool off though! Once the trade was over, Anakin showed her the bag of Mickey sparkles. She ooooo'd and awwwwwe'd over them. He reached in and gave her some! She made a big deal out of how special it was to get them from him. He was so happy, it made his day! Another magical moment for Anakin!

Since March, Anakin has wanted to see Princess Tiana from the Princess and the Frog. Every time we've gone there, she either hasn't been out or the line was already closed. This time as we passed by, I asked the cm if it was open, and she told us to come on in! Another magical moment for Anakin!! The photopass guy went hog wild talking pics! There had to be at least 20 pics online when I got there! Here's the pic I took.

2011-09-04-09-12091.jpg

He was totally fascinated with the flower on her dress. Most of the pics I have and that were on photopass were him looking at the flower. I deleted all but one of the flower looking pics.

Next up, it was some magic time for me!!

Our next stop was Columbia Harbour House. I was very excited to see the new menu! However, I went with an old favorite, tuna sandwich. I asked if it was possible to get it on white bread instead of multigrain. Much to my suprise, she said it was!!! That was my dose of magic! I was even more surprised when Goofy came with 2 tuna sandwiches!! Double dose of magic!!!! (For some reason the chef toasted the bread and instead of one thick tuna sandwhich I got 2 thin tuna sandwiches!!)

Here's a pic of 3 of the halfs, the 4th was in my hand.

2011-09-04-09-12093.jpg

It was the perfect tuna sandwich!

Grumpy got the shrimp and fish. He got 5 or 6 shrimp and 2 or 3 pieces of fish. Too much time has passed by, he doesn't remember. It also came with cole slaw and french fries.

2011-09-04-09-12094.jpg

I tried one of the breaded shrimp and it was IDENTICLE to the breaded shrimp at the Coral Reef!!! I really enjoyed it!

Anakin got his usual chicken nuggets. Did not take pics this time. I remember Tyler got chicken fingers and fries. Don't remember what bouncycat got, I think chicken fingers too?

Great updates, Tink. Love the photo with Princess Tiana and Anakin. And what great pixie dust to start your day. Tell Anakin I love the "Mickey" sparkles too (I collect them at our meals when they put them on the table for our anniversary.
