Disney dollars?

Is disney money still a thing? My mom gave some to the kids on our first trip several years ago, but I'm not sure where she got them. I'd love to start paying the kids their allowance money I'd discern dollars

Are Disney dollars just what they sound like? $1 for $1 that can only be used in the parks? Where do you get them before getting to DL?

Yes, they are $1USD for one Disney Dollar. You can get them at City Hall and at any of the Disney Property Hotels at the Front Desk - I confirmed with GCH last week. There are $1, $5 and $10 denominations. Here is a link to wiki them: http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/Disney_dollar

You can pre-order them online, but there's a hefty shipping fee.

I love Disney Dollars! I bought a couple to keep instead of spend.

They are dollar to dollar and they are sold at many places throughout the Disney Resort, like City Hall and the Disney Hotels. If you wanted to purchase them ahead of time, a cast member told me that you can get them though a ticket mall order! You can write to the following address:

I believe you will have the send them a check and they will send you the Disney Dollars. They are available in increments of $1, $5, and $10.
