Where can you buy Disney dollars on property?? Can they be bought at the resorts? Do you have to pay cash for them like a gift card or can you use credit? TIA

IDK where to buy on property but I just picked my son up some at the Disney Outlet and I could only pay in cash. They didn't let me pay with my debit card. LOL

You can purchase disney dollars using a credit card HOWEVER, you can only charge up to $50 to the credit card. You can purchase disney dollars with a credit card at a guest relations location in the theme parks.

Hmmmm, I wonder why it's only $50. Weird...I guess I'll never truly understand Disney!! I was hoping to be able to buy them at the resorts because it is for my brother's girlfriend's birthday and it is the day we get there when we are not going to be in the parks...oh well.

I don't know about the limit, but I've purchased Disney Dollars a couple of times with my CC. I believe that I got $30 in singles each time. I buy them before Easter, then on Easter morning, Tigger visits our house, and bounces around attaching Disney Dollars to trees, bushes, grass, and anything else he can reach. He attaches them with tiny plastic clothes pins that he buys at the Dollar Store for real cheap. He also leaves a package of peanut butter cups for each child, and perhaps a couple of little Disney things here and there (this year DS5 got three "T" shirts, and a sweat shirt). The kids then have a GREAT time searching out the Disney Dollars, we don't waste a ton of hard boiled eggs (which no one really eats) and the kids don't rot their teeth out of their heads with 20 lbs of candy.

Yesterday I bought $100 disney dollars in ones-I paid with my credit card. No problem.

That may have been an error on the cast members part. We are not allowed to charge more than 50 dollars because it's basically like a cash advance through a credit card company...and disney could get in trouble with our friends in those companies. I wouldn't count on that happening again.

Well, they are more like gift certificates, than a cash advance. The problem is that if you get the larger denominations, you do get cash returned for a small purchase. I doubt the credit card companies care, as they get their fee from Disney.

I purchased from my local Disney Store with a credit card. At DTD I was told that it was a cash for cash trade only, and that I had to go to the ATM machine and take out cash then go back to Guest Relations to purchase the Disney Dollars with cash. It was a real hassle. I asked the CM why it was different at DTD from the Disney Store, and she said that cash sale was the only way they do it on Disney property.

Does anyone know some places to get the Disney Dollars, while at WDW?

I have remembered both times at DL to get one to keep, but have forgotten everytime at WDW!

I really love this idea and think I'll talk Tigger into visiting my house next Easter. Thanks for such a fun idea. :yay:

At any guest relations (DTD or theme parks). Not sure about the resorts. I'd be prepared to pay with cash, but some report being able to use a CC.
