I just went to the Disney store and bought got some Disney Dollars for a friend going on the Magic with us on 9-28-02...the sales associate at the store was unsure if those could be used on the ship...can anyone tell me if they can be used just like money on the Magic???...thanks

Hey, we're going to be on that same cruise!! (And we're from NC too - Greensboro) I had the same question you did (I wanted to know if we could use the disney dollars to pay for the excursions), so I called Disney. After talking to several cast members (who had to consult several supervisors) they told us that yes we could use Disney dollars on board. I would be interested in hearing the experiences of people who have actually been on a disney cruise, though.

The CM is technically correct.

You can use Disney Dollars on the cruise but only to pay towards your room charges.

No cash or DD is accepted at any of the shops, bars, etc. on board DCL. Instead you are issued a room card referred to KTTW (Key to the World aka Key to the wallet) and all purchases MUST be charged to your KTTW. Even the arcade charges are put on your KTTW.

You can use Disney Dollars at guest services to apply against charges on your KTTW. Since everyone has some room charges, I'm sure your friends will have no problem using the DD - just let them know they need to apply them at guest services.
