Does anyone use these? Are these a good idea? Our daughter will have about $250 to spend for becoming all the way potty trained and family giving her money for DL. So we were wondering if we should do this for her and if so, where can we get Disney Dollars at?

You can get them at our local disney store. I got some $1.00 Ariel ones a few weeks ago and am using them for rewards for good behavior.

You can also get them at the bank on main street in DL. the advantage to that is if you don't use them all and if you keep your reciept, I believe they will exchange them.

You don't even need a receipt they will exchange, because it is their own currency. We bought ours at the Emporium right on Main St. so if the bank is busy you should be able to buy them at any large store in Disneyland.

You can get them also at the ticket booths between the parks. it's a great way to make sure that the money she was given to spend at DL is spent at DL and they make for a cute souvenir.

You may also want to consider getting some Disney Dollars and putting the rest on a Disney Gift Card. I know they sell them online and at Disney Stores. That way you don't have to carry around $250 worth of "cash". Takes up lots of space. Congrats to your DD for being potty trained!!

Just a little tip---I buy myself disney dollars during the year and than use them for the souviegners (spelled totally wrong) I buy when we are at the parks.

If you run out of cash at the park, use your credit card to buy some Disney Dollars. That way you don't have to use the ATM and eat the bank fees. When you're done at the park, exchange your left over Disney Dollars for cash on the way out.

I would wait and purchase them in the park. Disneyana also sells them. I have always thought of them more of a souvenir. But, getting a few of them as her reward for potty training is a great idea. :thumbsup2 My friend gets the Disney Gift Cards when we are at the parks, it really works out well not to have so much to carry. We have the clip-on AP holders and keep them in there so we are not always having to dig into our backpacks.:santa: :tink:

Maybe I will buy a few at the Disney Store and then some once we get to DL. I dont really want to carry that much money onto the plane. Are the Gift Cards only good at the shops and not food?

Be sure to get some singles so that she has some with "fairy dust" (embedded glitter) on them.
