Disney Dollars?

I've heard of people saving up "Disney Dollars" to pay for their trips and meals etc.

Where can I get Disney Dollars? At the Disney store??

You can only buy them at WDW or US Disney Stores.

Not available in Canada.

If you are ordering under $50, WDW can do this over the phone, but this is their max to charge to a credit card. Call the 800 number and listen for the option that gets you to merchandising. This is the info I received from them. If you need more, you have to send a money order in US funds with an extra $10 for shipping and specify your denominations (1,5,10) to:

Attn: Disney Dollars

Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

I did this before Christmas and with snail mail it worked out to 2 weeks turn around - pretty much all mail being the delay, judging by the postmark. There isn't any other way to get DD in Canada.

I bought a bunch of them at one of the guest services desks at our resort. You can also buy them at Guest Relations in the parks I believe.

Cool thing about Disney Dollars is that they are actually a terrific inexpensive souvenir! I bought a couple of $1's specifically to put in my scrapbook.

I've been doing mostly DLR research, so I'm not current with WDW. But, the DLR website allows you to order Gift Cards of any denomination to be used in the parks/hotels. I think it's free shipping but I'm not sure. You order them like you order hopper passes, directly from disney on-line. If you just want to pre-purchase, that might be a route for you. Check if WDW offers that on-line.
