Disney Dollars-Where to Get them

We will be going later on in 2006. Would like to purchase these along the way for birthday gifts and so forth. Where do you purchase them and what denomintations do they come in?

you can buy them at your local disney store. they come in 1's, 5's, and 10.00. you can also order them but I don't have the number. hope this helps!

if you "buy" them at your disney store, do you just do cash for them or charge them? I would like to get some for my kids but I've heard they are considered a "cash advance" if you do them on your CC. I'll be at our only Disney Store in the state next week, so I want to be prepared.

To my knowledge, the only places you can purchase them is through the Disney Store or onsite at your hotel.

As far as a 'Cash Advance,' - no. I use my credit card as a convenience and it has never come up that way. How would they know? It comes up as a dollar amount just like a gift card would. If the credit card company knew what I was purchasing specifically, does that mean they know what size pants I really wear?

The Disney Dollars are also available at each theme park's guest relations desk. At the theme park guest relations, you can get special $20 and $50 Disney Dollars, in addition to the standard $1, $5 and $10. If you are not in Orlando, then I think you can only go to your nearest Disney Store. I don't think WDW merchandising will mail Disney Dollars.

If I were to purchase Disney Dollars using my Disney Visa would it be considered a purchase and would I still receive my points?

I also noticed that they are now selling WDW gift cards in the parks! I saw these for the first time earlier this month. You might want to check the WDW website to see if these can be ordered online in addition to disney dollars....
