DISNEY DOLLARS & restaurants???

Please help; we leave for Disney on Wednesday! Lots of relatives and friends gave us disney dollars, and now I'm wondering if they can be used in the WDW restaurants. We have over $300 in DD. I am praying we can use them, because I do not plan on splurging $300 towards souveniers. We are on a mega budget. I have read that the DD are useable anywhere in WDW, just like cash. Thanks for any help or advice concerning this.

Yes, they can be used in all the restaurants.

Can they be used at DTD. We wanted to eat at planet hollywood, can we use our disney rewards?

Disney Dollars can be used for anything you'd use cash for, incl tipping. I once apologized to a CM about having to tip w/ DDs, but she said they consider it the same as money & can cash them in so not to worry.

I would call the restaurant you are looking to dine in at DTD to make sure who accepts Disney Dollars as a legal form of payment.

Pretty much all DTD will accept them. I've used them to pay for a movie at AMC in DTD too and buy pretzel at Wetzel Pretzel with DDs too.

You can also use DDs at the vendor carts, to pay for your room charges (including Swan/Dolphin), they also accept DDs at the Character Warehouse store at Belz outlet.
