disney dollars question

I've been lurking about here getting some great tips on saving for our trip next year and wanted to say thanks to everyone!

One quick question...does anyone know if you can purchase disney dollars at the disney store using a gift card? My grandparents gave my son a gift card thinking he could use it at the park and unless I am remembering wrong, they aren't valid in the park.

Yes, you can

You can buy Disney Dollars at the Disney Store with a gift card - but cannot use the gift cards many places down there...so we did the same thing

Some people on these boards have found that their local Disney Store would NOT allow this purchase....I was able to, however not everyone has.

I have used my Disney gift cards to purchase Disney Dollars twice in the last 6 weeks without any problem....

I have a $25 Disney gift card that I was not allowed to purchase Disney Dollars at my local TDS. Now I got the gift card through a rewards program (can't remember which one). Maybe TDS can tell between those gift cards that were paid for with cash by someone vs. one from a rewards program.

I have used Disney Gift Cards to purchase Disney Dollars on 3 seperate occassions at two different Disney stores without a problem.
