I asked because we were just hit for a $5 fee from Discover Card for buying Amer Ex. gift certificate from AAA that we were giving as wedding gift.

Disney Dollars purchased with a credit card are just like any other purchase you make with you credit card - not a cash advance. I asked about purchasing DD's with a gift card (on advice from other Dis members) and at first they were unsure. However, upon checking the policy, they found that there was no policy against it.
Like a kid with a new toy, I can't stop looking at them
Anyway, my question is that I had a $25 gift card that I wanted to use to purchase the disney dollars, and the CM would not allow it. She said that the "gift cards are only good toward merchandise, and disney dollars are money, not merchandise". She wasn't too friendly either.
Anyway, according to mcfrugal, it should have been allowed. Anyone else know? Now I am stuck with all of these gift cards that I bought on ebay with the intention of using them for disney dollars.
