This may have been addressed in the past, but when I pulled up "Disney Dollars cruise" using search, it gave me lots and lots of pages, so I'm asking here to keep from going cukoo reading all those results.

Can you use Disney Dollars on the cruise in order to buy drinks, souveniers, etc.?

Thanks!
Lori P. :)

The entire ship is on a "cashless" system. This means that once you check in at the DCL terminal you'll be issued a magnetically encoded card. This card acts as your ship ID, stateroom key, and ship charge card. Anything and everything you purchase on the ship will be charged to this card. This is also true of Castaway Cay.

You can't use cash, regular U.S. cash or Disney Dollars, on the ship to directly purchase an item. However, you can use Disney Dollars at Guest Services to settle your account once things have been charged to your room.

You can go to guest services anyday of the cruise and give them your Disney Dollars. They will then apply it to your account. You can have a credit. We did this and also gave them our Disney Visa rewards card. It is better to go to guest services before the last night of the cruise. We walked right up to the desk. The last night there was quite a line.
