The giftcard may be more practical, but I don't really find practicality to be the key character trait of MOST Disney fans (or children, for that matter.)
Thank you. I will check into this. I have some Visa rewards points I need to redeem before too long. I may consider this if the card doesn't expire.
I do think the Disney dollars can be a good learning tool for children to help teach them about money. I'm not a parent, but for those of you who are concerned, basically Disney Dollars are play money in 99%+ of the world. If you are crafty, you could create your own Disney money for your children. The children would just need to redeem their play money with you prior to their purchases. Just an idea....
You know how at Xmas, Easter, etc you can buy dollars with a Santa/Easter Bunny sticker on top of Washington? Maybe someone crafty could come up with a way to do the same with Mickey. That way it is still legal tender and also a "Disney Dollar"
I too was sad this morning.I called our Disney Store here in Memphis and they said they stopped carrying them as of Oct. 3rd.I just knew I should have gotten them last month!
