disney dollars large amount...

ok so i get 500. to 1000> in disney dollars .. and at the end of my cruise i can pay my charges with this???because if this is true i can start saving now!!!?? and not use a charge!!! but do i still need a charge to give them at check in ???

I've been buying $100 in disney dollars every month at the nearest Disney store. By the time our cruise comes I will have about $1,000 in disney dollars. It is much easier to pay off $100 on the credit card every month than $1,000 after the cruise. And more fun too.
When I cruised on NCL in Dec I gave them my credit card but every few days I would go to the pursers desk and pay off the balance. Im planning on doing the same on our Disney cruise but of course paying with Disney dollars!

i am confused do they still cahrge your cc every day?? or if you pay off the amount daily on board tehn they dont?? or py in full at the end of cruise.. sorry i am slow to catch on

You have a couple of choices. You can either give DCL the Disney Dollars up front, when you check in, and then at the end of the cruise you will either have to pay the balance remaining or you will get a refund of whatever amount is left in your account. So if you put $1000 DDs down on your account and only spend $800 you will get $200 back.

You can also give a credit card but stop by guest services from time to time and pay off your balance with the DDs. I believe that they do not actually charge your credit card until you spend a certain amount ($500 or so). As long as you monitor your spending and pay off your account before you get to that amount your credit card won't be charged.

Your third option is to set your account up as a cash account. You will still get your Key to the World card but I believe you won't have to give them a credit card number. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong.) You will have to go to Guest Services at the end of the trip and pay off all of your charges.

We will also be taking a large amount of Disney Dollars. I'm going to give them over to DCL when we arrive at the port and have them applied as a credit to our account.
