I just read on a Disney notes and info type thing that they no longer offering the Lunch with an Imagineer experience at The Brown Derby at DHS!

I did this last year and it was WONDERFUL! I was planning on doing it again in October and will be so disappointed if this is true. (I tried to call, but was on hold forever)

This was a great experience...one that I really treasured and something that makes a trip so special and unique. Plus it isn't as time consuming as one of the tours. I loved it because it was only 2 hours, in a fabulous restaurant, in a small group sitting talking with an IMAGINEER. So cool.

I was even going to call in a voice mail review of it for the podcast.

My Imagineer was Steve Probus that day. He is in charge of Disney Props at WDW and he was great, it was his first Imagineer Lunch, but he did an awesome job and at the time was working on the new Haunted Mansion, the whole conversation was fascinating. I know everyone had a great time. I can't believe they won't be offering this anymore. :(

I'm off to write Guest services, but I know it won't do me any good. :headache:

Hey Lisa

I think I read the same thing you did and I think the person who wrote that didn't have all the info.

I could be wrong but I beleive they tried to book it with an underage child and misunderstood that they couldn't book it because of the age restriction - not that it was discontinued.

I'll do some research (i.e. I will have Kevin do some research) and find out what the real deal is.

It's not true. John had me look into this when he first heard this rumor. I don't know for certain, but I believe this started as a misunderstanding over the age restrictions.

It's alive and well. :thumbsup2

Wow - we must have been typing at the exact same time - spooky :scared1:

Gosh I hope it isnt true, we really wanted to do this next Spring. Let us know John. :)

Oh...thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!! :worship:

This was seriously such a trip highlight for me, I couldn't wait to do it again, in fact, I was going to ask one of the podcast crew if they wanted to join me next time. I think you guys would love it.

If it REALLY hasn't gone away I will call in a voicemail review.

I don't know what age we are talking about, but I will say, this is something that really isn't for kids. I have a 13 year niece who loves Disney, but I wouldn't take her to this for a couple years yet. I'd say 16 and over. Younger kids for sure will find it boring and even at 13, it's really just more of an adult thing.
