Disney discounted room only offer on UK-Expedia; ended 31 March.

Later this month around the 24th we're expecting the Walt Disney Travel Company UK to release their 2015 offers which might include free dining and room discounts. We're unsure if there's going to be any changes to the current 2014 room rates but if there were then Expedia UK would normally reduce their rates, so it's just a case of wait and see.

Thanks! 2015 works for me lol

If I need to add someone to my room reservation (no park tickets involved, just one night room only & dinner at Chef Mickey's), do I just email Expedia UK? I know the price would not be any different & obviously there is room we are staying at CR. Right now it's just myself & my 10 yo son.

I had to call them to do this, they never responded to the email I sent.

They responded to my email that I need to call them to do it. However I don't really want to call the Uk so that stinks for me lol

Hi MichellelovesMickey and hopefully by now you've managed to add that extra person to your room but if not then have you sent an email to travel@support.expedia.co.uk and if like SKTiger & iheartbuffy, Expedia responded negatively with 'you need to call them' then have a look at thread #572 http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=50854019&postcount=572 posted by bumbershoot79 and send an email to Stuart Newman, Director of Customer Experience UK and you might be lucky and get a positive response and they'll call you.

I did search for an Expedia UK freephone number but couldn't find one, which is a shame as you could then SKYPE the UK free.

Good luck and have a Happy Easter.

Just a quick update.

At the moment there's no new offers on UK Expedia and they've still not loaded any of the Disney resorts for 2015.

The Walt Disney Travel Company in the UK launched today their 2015 deals, apart from the normal free dining there's one new addition, a free breakfast when staying at any of the All Stars or the Pop and each guest needs to buy a theme park ticket.

It's classed as a quick service meal and it seems it can be used any time of the day, so for lunch or an evening meal; check it out at the link below but remember these deals are for European guest only; http://www.disneyholidays.co.uk/walt-disney-world/deals/disney-hotel-tickets/002/

And hope those who've already taken their UK-Expedia vacation all had a great time and with no problems.

We booked for five with the free reg dining and 200 gift card for 6 nights in April for 2879 high works out to about 4800 us

I am wanting to book a 2nd night.....should I book it separately and ask to not have to switch rooms or should I just book for 2 nights and once the confirmation comes through then cancel the single night reservation. I would hate to have to wake up, check out & back in at the same hotel when all I want to do is add a night.

Also what does this mean under "Additional Rules & Regulations"

The List of fees presented may not be comprehensive. Fees and deposits may not include tax and are subject to change.

The price above DOES NOT include any applicable hotel service fees, charges for optional incidentals, or regulatory surcharges. The hotel will assess these fees, charges, and surcharges upon check-out.

I think it means that it does not include any resort or parking fees, which Disney hotels don't charge anyway.

I made a reservation over the weekend for All Star Sports. Price was 353 Pounds, which according to current exchange rate should come to about $480; but when I checked my CC today I was billed $602. Has anybody else run into this issue?
I emailed customer service and am waiting to hear back from them.
My CC does not charge a Foreign Transaction Fee.

Are you you using a pounds to dollars calculator? Uk is not on the Euro system. Look like you were chargef correctly.

Thanks again, OP, for creating this thread! Because of the information you provided, we saved a bundle in March. :thumbsup2

We are now trying to book a last-minute quick trip for early July. I am seeing rates of 110 pounds UK per night. Can anyone help me convert that amount into US dollars?

Thanks again!

Haven't visited the Budget Boards for a little while so sorry I haven't replied to any of the recent questions and here's an update.

Expedia UK is quoted in Sterling, British Pounds £ so please be aware when converting into US Dollars and make sure you're not using the European currency of the EURO €.

Since the beginning of the year the US currency has slightly weakened against the British Pound as in January the rate was around $1.65 to the £1.00 and now it's around $1.70 to the £1.00.

For those dates not covered by the free dining or a room discount offers on the US web sites then you still might be lucky and find a slightly better room only rate on Expedia UK and if you have booked on Expedia UK and a better rate or offer comes along the you can easily cancel right up until 5-days before check in. Some resorts might now charge a fee prior to the 5-days so check T&C's.

Best savings still seems to be for those looking to travel over Thanksgiving so it might be worth comparing prices and here's a few examples.

4-nights checking in Tuesday 25th November for 2 adults and 2 children, checking out Saturday 29th with FREE cancellation before Thursday 20th November.

Disney's All-Star Sports & Music Resort Standard View Room £217.96, approx $372.
Rack rate $616
Approximate saving over rack rate of 40%

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Standard View £638.52, approx $1,088.
Rack rate $1,804
Approximate saving over rack rate of 40%

Disney's Yacht Club Resort Standard View £789.52, approx $1,345.
Rack rate $2,105
Approximate saving over rack rate of 36%

Disney's Yacht Club Standard View Club Level £1,151.12, approx $1,960.
Rack rate $3,019
Approximate saving over rack rate of 35%

Disney's Polynesian Resort Garden View £1,151.68, approx $1,960.
Rack rate $2,457
Approximate saving over rack rate of 20%

Disney's Polynesian Resort Garden View - Club Level £1,466.04, approx $2,498.
Rack rate $3,289
Approximate saving over rack rate of 24%

Haven't had time to recheck any figures so sorry if there's any mistakes, also not all resort/rooms/dates are discounted to those levels.

No dates released yet for 2015.

Hope those who've already taken their vacation had a great time and if you came across a problem then please post and for those going soon have a wonderful time and happy 4th of July.

Thanks again OP for this thread. We booked a week at a standard Beach Club room, and we are here now and got upgraded to a water view with an excellent location near the lobby and store. It's been great! :goodvibes
