Disney discounted room only offer on UK-Expedia; ended 31 March.

Now with the summer rates out, I found The Animal Kingdom Lodge cheaper on Orbitz.com using the promo code Discover. It is $151 less than what I paid on expedia.co.uk. So I just filled out the Best price Guarantee form on Expdia to get the refund difference. Others of you that booked for the summer may want to check to see if your resort is cheaper as well and then fill out the form to get the refund!

Thanks, I checked but couldn't figure out where to put the code. :confused3 The price is actually double what I paid with the Expedia UK deal so unless that code is for over 50% off I'm sticking with what we have right now. :teacher:

Just wanted to add a quick update with my experience in case others are still trying to get their Reservation Number. I was able to book at the good prices, but was also having trouble getting my Disney Reservation number. I waited about 10 days, hoping the number would show up on my online itinerary, as others have reported, but it did not.

I then tried to email directly to the individual from Expedia mentioned earlier in the thread, but did not get a response. A few days later, I emailed Expedia UK's support line, but didn't get a response for several days. A few days after that, I submitted a request through Facebook.

Today, I finally got a response to my second email (the one to Expedia support). Took four days, but they apologized for the delay and provided my Reservation number, which I was easily able to link on Disney's site. (As reported several times, the number you need is the 12-digit number beginning with "44.")

At Disney now and I had no problems checking into my 1-night stay at ASSp. I had done online check-in a couple days before my arrival and I did get my request to be in the Touchdown building but not the ground floor room I wanted. Very easy and no problems with DME delivering the luggage. Definitely was worth booking this way. Thanks again, OP! It all worked out great!

Did you have any luck in expedia honoring their best price guarantee? I made 2 reservations during the previous sale on expedia and then heard about a promo for 10% off. I could have (and should have) just cancelled and re-booked the hotels, but thought expedia.uk.co would honor their guarantee. First, I was denied because they said it only applied to reservations paid for upfront, not at the hotel. When I corrected them and showed that I did indeed pay the entire amount to expedia, they claimed I couldn't use a coupon or promo that wasn't available to the general public. I pointed out that since the promo was found on their home page, it certainly was available to the general public. I didn't hear a reply for 2 weeks and when I contacted them again, I just got " we understand your frustration, however, your refund is denied." No explanation. Guess that's how they roll. Doubt I will use them again, since it's clear you cannot trust them to keep their word.

I never heard back from expedia uk about honoring their best price guarantee. I gave them 48 hrs....which was 24 hrs longer than the email said I would have a response by. I didn't want to loose out on the Orbitz deal as it was saving me $151 over the expedia uk deal I had. So I booked through Orbitz, linked everything to MDE and then I cancelled the expedia uk ressie. My credit card has already been credited back the money! All easy to do. The expedia uk deal was awesome....and still saved me money - 6% more over the current summer deal of 35% at AKL but another $151 off of that through Orbitz was too good to pass up! Especially since this is a solo trip and I have to pay the whole thing!

Just back from our trip that we booked through Expedia.UK and everything went swimmingly! No problems or hiccups with the reservations.

Ok emailed them to get my wdw confirm no and had booked trip a month ago. They sent back email saying wdw told them not out yet? What?!?! My friend who booked same day for same trip already has hers. No clue what this rep is talking about and of course my 180 days is tomorrow. Any suggestions?

I would try calling WDW. They should be able to give it to you by looking up your ressie by your name and dates of arrival and departure. Sounds like you are getting some misinformation from Expedia. At the beginning of February I booked a room for the end of July and had my WDW Reservation # within 2 days. Best of luck!

Thanks that worked and got all my dining reservations!

So happy to hear all turned out great. Was it easy to get your ADR's? I haven't had to book any since MDE came into effect. Since I have MDE set up with my resort reservation, do I automatically get to make my ADR's on day 180 (coming up in another 2 weeks) just by logging on to MDE or do I have to add in my reservation # on the dining site like I used to have to do in the past?

Thanks for any advice...the nerves are starting to rev up as I approach my 180 date

Have a super vaca!

People booking directly through Disney have reported getting the personalized booklet 4-6 weeks after booking. I booked almost 2 months ago (and linked to MDE) but haven't gotten anything in the mail :confused3 Is it just me? Should I have received something from Disney by now?

Yes super easy. I added my reservation number which gave me access to the days past the 180 from the first day.

Phew! Good to know I shouldn't lose sleep over the next couple of weeks until I hit the 180 day mark...I love your description of it being 'super easy'
:goodvibes

Thanks for letting me know!

Does anyone know if there might be another uk discount coming out?
I'd like to know this too.

Later this month around the 24th we're expecting the Walt Disney Travel Company UK to release their 2015 offers which might include free dining and room discounts. We're unsure if there's going to be any changes to the current 2014 room rates but if there were then Expedia UK would normally reduce their rates, so it's just a case of wait and see.

Currently there's only a few room types with reasonable discount on UK Expedia and that's over the holidays like the Thanksgiving expensive rack rate days such as.......

Disney's All-Star Music Resort standard room for £55.89 per night, which is approximately $93.60 and with the rack rate at $154 that's about a 40% saving.

Disney's All-Star Music Resort family room for £140.89 per night, which is approximately $236 and with the rack rate at $348 that's about a 32% saving.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge in a standard room for £163.72 per night, which is approximately $275 and with the rack rate at $451 that's about a 39% saving.

Disney's Wilderness Lodge Standard Room - Club Level for £308.88 per night, which is approximately $518 and with the rack rate at $695 that's about a 25% saving.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort Lagoon View - Club Level for £325.36 per night, which is approximately $545 and with the rack rate at $882 that's about a 37% saving.

No where near to the earlier 50% plus savings which some DIS'ers made, but worth checking back just in case.
