Disney discounted room only offer on UK-Expedia; ended 31 March.

Has everyone checked the conversion rate that they are getting from their credit cards? I used my Chase Sapphire Visa (double points on travel) and was charged $977 (US dollars) for a reservation that is 592 British pounds. This is more than $100 more than I expected from the on-line conversion rates. It's still a good deal compared to the U.S. sites, just not quite as good a deal as i was expecting.

Any other conversion-rate experiences?

I cancelled my original 3 nights at CBR in March and rebooked with the 10% promo code. My total was 229.59 GBP, which converted to 377.90 USD on the conversion site I used. My credit card (Capital One *********** - 1.5% cash back on all purchases) was charged 378.81 USD, so it was very close to what I was expecting.

Are you sure you were converting British pounds sterling? When I plug your 592 GBP into the website I used, www.coinmill.com, I was given 974.43 USD.

Using xe.com the rate is around $972 so that seems pretty close. Chase does charge a foreign transaction fee though (3%).

Thanks - I just used the first conversion tool that popped up on Goggle, which apparently was not all that accurate.

Chase Sapphire Preferred Visa is not supposed to charge a foreign transaction fee - I will have to check on that.

Just Googled £592 = $ and the rate Google showed was.....

592 British Pound Sterling equals 972.77 US Dollar.

A previous poster had mistakenly used Euro's € instead of the British Pounds £ and if you Google €592 = $ you get .........

592 Euro equals 798.08 US Dollar.

Sorry you didn't make the dollar savings you had planned.

Thanks for posting your information. I couldn't tell you which conversion site I used - I definitely should have been more careful about that.

But I am still pleased with the deal.

This is definitely the best deal I've seen in 12 years! I saved over 51% on my "bonus" March trip and almost 39% on my October trip! I wish the end date of my October trip fell within the 10% promo, but I will keep my eye out for another code in the coming months.

Could not pass up such a great deal through expedia uk! Booked AKL for July 1-8,2014 (7 nights) for $1600.47 USD(slightly higher than the exchange rate was giving - but didn't want to deal with the British pounds on my card)! Thats a $1081.02 (or roughly 40.5%) discount over the current rate on every other website!

Now I just have to buy my park tickets and book the Magical Express! Then make sure it's all linked!

What about making two bookings, one checking out on the 31st November with the code and the second checking in on the 31st. So long as it's in the same room category then hopefully the front desk should be able to link the two reservations so no room changes. But not sure of any negative implications especially with My Disney Experience etc, and you'll get two sets of magic-bands to worry about. Also gives you the opportunity to cancel just the second reservation if a cheaper option comes up.....

I did think about that, but decided it wasn't worth the hassle. I added a night onto the end of a trip one year and was not able to keep the same room. With 14 nights worth of stuff to move (my husband jokes that I pack everything plus the kitchen sink), it's worth the extra $100.00 or so to know I'm staying put! Besides, thanks to you I already have a better deal than I imagined I would get this year!

It changed to "Confirmed" today, however under it, it reads "Confirmation #: Confirmed" without a number.

I emailed expedia.co.uk, is there something else I should be doing to get a Disney friendly confirmation #? I also looked at my Discover online account today and it was about $2.50 less than I was expecting.

All in all I paid $91.94 for a value room for one night before we move to SSR. If booked through WDW it would have been $142.83 (with Spring discount). So I saved $50.89 for a 36% savings. Quite a deal!

I just wish I could find the same kind of deal for the campground for our 1 night reservation in December.

I am so loving this deal! I just rebooked using the 10% off code and added a day to my trip for $130 more than the previous deal. I switched from Yacht Club to Beach Club because there were not any garden view rooms available at Yacht Club for the last day.

I can't believe I booked six nights at the Beach Club for just over $250 per night in June! Thanks again, OP!

For those of you who may be as blind as me, look under the "How Would you like to pay?" bar. In small print is says "Enter a Coupon or Promo Code" with some down arrows. When you click on it the box to enter the code appears.

Unfortunately, to get a good rate in December in a Fort Wilderness Cabin it needs to be between 1st and 7th, so checking out by the 8th. The nightly rate is approx £172, $286 against a rack rate of $367 for weekday and $393 for a weekend night.

We had exactly the same for our one night booking in March, check out thread #86. . A few days after we'd phoned the number showed up in place of the second Confirmed.

I just rebooked. Cancelled the first (said I would receive my refund within 5-7 days) and then went in and rebooked. Same as the US site, was super easy. Good luck!

I cancelled my reservation after I rebooked with the code. And yes, cancelling was extremely easy - I just clicked on the "Cancel Room" link, confirmed that I did want to cancel, and received an email confirming the cancellation within a minute. I think they said it would be about 4-7 days before I would see the refund to my original form of payment, depending upon how quickly my bank processed the refund.

Thanks everyone. I just rebooked. My previous reservation is cancelled and I saved more money. I had to get back on the phone with my credit card company so they would let the charge go through. Only bummer was that I had just had my confirmation number show up on the site this am and now I have to wait again. Oh well!

Thanks op! I booked yacht club two weeks ago for $880 for 3 nights in October during the 10 miler race using the uk site, now I rebooked with the 10%, somehow my rate went down to $765! This is for.pool/lagoon view. Can't believe I got this rate, I was planning to spend about $1200 if they gave a 30% discount! otherwise we wouldn't have been able to stay here. Rack rate was $1830.

We just booked, too. Just over $1,800 for 7 nights at Beach Club Resort in June, standard view. We have three kids, youngest is two, and the Beach Club was one of the only resorts letting us book three kids and two adults. Slightly nervous, but it seemed too good to pass up, especially since we have premium annual passes and Southwest points. We are going to try to go in Nov., too., to take advantage of the passes before they expire. We were not planning on the Beach Club, although we love it there, due to the usual price.
