Hi Guys!

I am planning my trip right now and i want to know where should i go for my first dinner in any of the lands/parks?

I am arriving monday afternoon and have a 5 day pass so i have access straight away into the parks. I just booked lunch for one day at ariels grotto, and breakfast at Goofys kitchen and PCH grill for other days.
I also want to go to the carnication cafe, and pizza port, Cove bar and Rainforest cafe while i am there.
I tried to book the rainforest cafe for dinner the first night but it was only showing breakfast and lunch. is it not open for dinner? in that case i will do it on my last day that i am there.:confused3

I am also a very fussy eater. so most of the fine dining places do not really appeal to me... that is unless i can order the kids meal? is that possible? does anyone know? i am 20 years old - a little over the kids limit

I am visiting from the 15th to the 19th September! Cant wait!!!!!:yay:

At most table service venues, you can order from the children's menu, though they will bring you an adult-sized portion at a higher price. At counter service places, they won't know or care if you're ordering a child's meal.

How are you arriving at DLR? If you make a dining reservation, there is a $10 per person penalty if you do not show up for the reservation. If you're flying, there is a chance you could be delayed, so it's something to consider if you're thinking of making a reservation.

Carnations takes reservations and given that it's not a very large venue, I would consider making a reservation for this location. The Cove Bar does not take reservations and it's also not very big. The wait for a table can be pretty long, so I'd consider treating this as an 'opportunistic' venue (i.e., if the line is short when you walk by, stop by for a bite). Pizza Port (Redd Rockett's) is a counter service venue. I would probably tentatively plan this for the first night because you don't have to worry about a reservation.

RFC does open for dinner, but they do not take reservations through the Disney site. If you are sure you're going to eat there, then I would consider joining the Landry Club ($25 fee, but you get a $25 credit to use on your first visit) because you get priority seating. Standby wait times can exceed an hour on weekends.

As the PP said, most table service locations will let an adult order from the children's menu, but they may bring you a larger portion and charge you a comparable adult price. At buffets, all-you-care-to-eat, and fixed priced meals you have to pay the adult price regardless of what you are ordering/eating.

That should be fun...it'll be just after the start of HalloweenTime.

im a pretty picky eater - 25 years old.

you pretty much nailed all the places i like. rainforest is very cool. the fine dinning places usually have a lounge with a bar menu which tends to cater more to my needs. maybe check those out to have a more upscale experience but still eat what you like.
