I am going to Disney in July . We had the QSDP last year and loved it! We ate and ate and ate some more. This year however I am having some health issues and was advised to strictly follow a low-fat and low sodium diet with very little added sugar. Last year I had no rules or restrictions so I didn't always pick the healthiest choices. If anyone out there has had these choices to make on QSDP please let me know. I am trying to plan out what I will eat in advance. Thanks, Stephanie

Are you doing the QSDP for sure? There's a fair amount of variety at Epcot (I'm thinking of Sunshine Seasons for sure). AK has chicken at the BBQ place, if you're able to do that. MK has some wraps, like at Pecos Bills, and chicken again might be an option at Cosmic Rays. I think your biggest challenge is that CS places can't do special meals like they can at a TS location, given that the CS places are working with a very limited set of ingredients. Have you seen the menus at www.allears.net? That might give you a good idea of what places will meet your needs.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I have studied the menus at all ears and there are probably some limited choices at all of the counter service restuarants . I will just have to be super careful. The sodium contents are the ones that scare me! Fast food is loaded. Yes, we are definitely doing the QSDP. Too much time is lost with ADRS and because of my limiting myself from exhaustion we are not spending the entire day and night at the parks like we are used to doing. Stephanie

CS is tricky with dietary restrictions. Everything is pre-made and they can't make many modifications, except leaving toppings off a sandwich or something equally simple. Contact specialdiets@disneyworld.com. Let them know you'll be on the QSDP and will need info about sodium, sugar and fat content. They might not be able to give you exact figures, but will be able to provide a list of vendors of different components, like the bread, chicken, dressings, etc. Most food manufacturers provide nutrition info on their websites. You should be able to get a better idea what you can eat and what you should avoid.

I have found that low sodium is VERY hard at CS type places. Low fat can be done but it is somewhat restricted. Grilled chicken sandwich with out mayo is pretty low fat but FULL of sodium. Burgers have less sodium but more fat!!! Look for places that have salads, no or little dressing (can be fat free but lots of sodium) or fresh fruit to round things out. Drink lots of water and do lots of walking. Good luck!!!!
