Disney Dining Plan

I would imagine that it was cheaper to print the signs with the logos than you go back and do it if and when they decide to restart the DDP. Better to do it once and be done with it.

The signs for every festival since the parks reopened have had the logos. I wouldn't use that as any kind of information one way or the other.

It was just an observation. I agree that being ready for any possibility was a good idea for them. :)

Free DDP is offered to entice people during off seasons.
I love DDP. I most certainly can eat cheaper without it. But I like it! I like not having to come home to a dinner bill on my credit card and being able to to get the pricier choice instead of thinking about price each time I purchase a meal.
I actually prefer the quick service plan. I know where the good QS food is sold and I don’t have to worry about ADRs. I’ll do a nice sit down meal at least once. And if they bring back the plan In time for my Sept trip I’ll use my snack options at Food and Wine.
It may not be for everyone, but I love the dining plan and can’t wait till it’s back. As soon as anyone hears the dates it returns, please let me know!!
I love the thought of the dining plan because I don’t have to count numbers when my family of 5 is ordering snacks and meals and my husband is stroking out over the price of it all. He’s better with the all inclusive idea of it. I hope they bring it back before next summer.

The dining plan will return, for sure. I believe the delay is due to restaurants restructuring their menu items and approaches as they re-open. The factor being is cost to Disney, so they're quite possibly waiting until they have enough of data to offer a price they'll be profitable with...

So your husband doesn't know how much the dining plan costs?

Maybe the DDP is a better financial option for them? I think that is what they are saying. If they don't use the DDP then the husband is getting anxious over the amount spent on the food out of pocket versus having it all already paid for. I am sure that the husband is fully aware of the DDP cost.

If they bring it back before our trip next year then we're going to use it. It would be a far better value for us considering where we are planning to eat.

Hard to know the value... till we know the price and what menus will look like. It's all in flux...

We don't use it every time mostly because we have been staying at Swan or Dolphin.... but we are looking to do a future trip at a WDW Resort that will including the DDP again, as we tend to focus those trips on maximizing the "value" of our dining credits.

We already took a look at the menus as they were to determine if the DDP would be worth it for us and so far it looks like for the first time in a long time it may be. But like you said, things are still in flux with Disney so that may change for us.

So far we have:

With these resturants just announced to reopen soon, how long will it be before the dining plan is announced?

Just because I don’t think you’re accounting for it right now, be our guest is a signature restaurant and counts as 2 TS credits. But since I have zero faith in space 220 ever opening there is your extra TS :rotfl2: I’m anxiously awaiting that one too so no snark intended just don’t believe it’s ever happening lol

I forgot about that. :( In that case it may not be the deal I was hoping for. :( Way to throw a monkey wrench into my plans!! :)

Sorry! Hopefully they will go back to a QS breakfast and lunch at some point but I think we need to see the demand drop off first :guilty:

Oh, we don't do BoG for breakfast or lunch. It is a dinner only thing for us. I just forgot about the stupid signature dining experience. LOL

They will bring it back as soon as they have the restaurant capacity. Dining plan is a moneymaker for Disney because most people spend more on the plan than if they just paid for the food they would normally purchase. What normal person would really purchase lunch, desert, dinner, desert and two snacks every day for everyone in their party.
