As of January 3, 2006, Disney Vacation Club members making DVC reservations for travel beginning April 1 can add the Disney Dining Plan. The plan will be available at the five Walt Disney World DVC resorts: BoardWalk Villas, Beach Club Villas, The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Old Key West Resort, and Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa. DVC members can NOT book the entire Magic Your Way package, however, as they cannot book tickets on their Member reservations. For more information, DVC members should call Member Services.

This is from the Allears newsletter for those interested.

Now...Can anyone tell me where to find info on this plan??

I have the DDE card and it works well for me and has saved me $$.
I am taking extended family in May..with small kids...

Is the DDP better for families, with children??

Your thoughts? :confused3

We have used the Dining plan not DDE and it worked well for us. However, it is A LOT of food. Our DD8 does not eat a whole lot, but it was still worth it for us. I have heard on this board that the DDE is just as good of a savings some say even better. We are going with my DH family in July and they have 4 teenagers, we are doing Dining again then, due to ease. We don't have to worry about kids having money for food it is covered. I guess it just boils down to preference. :flower:

Nothing official, other than an announcement at the Annual Meetings has come from DVC at this point. As to whether the DDP or DDE wil be best for you depends entirely upon your groups normal dining hbits.

The DDP/DDE advantages have been an ongoing discusion on this thread:

DDE DDP Comparison

I'd say it depends on how old your children are and what your dining habits are like. I think it's $37.99 for people 10 and over and $10-$12 for children 3-9.

I think for adults w/small kids, who like 1 table service every day, it could be a deal. Especially if you and the kidees eat a ($2.50) mickey premium bar everyday. But, our oldest is 10 and he won't eat enough chicken fingers and fries to justify the cost. ;)

We have the DDE and like it. Btw, I wonder how hard it will be to get the table service you want when the dining plan takes hold..
