We are calling next week at our 7 mos mark in hopes of getting into BCV! We plan on doing the Dining Plan.. Do I have to tell them next week? I know you have to pay the day you tell them now... but didnt know If I could add it on in a few months..

Hi Central MA, RI here! How about that snow? Anyway, thinking of warmer places....this is what I'm figuring out....if you're going to add DDP for the entire length of your stay then you can add anytime up until 48 hrs before. As you said, you'll pay in full when you add the plan. BUT, if you intend on adding the DDP for only part of your stay, you should book that when booking your room, because DVC will break up your reservation accordingly. :3dglasses

you have until 48 hours before you arrive....now that we have to pay for it when we add it on - i will be adding it right before we go.

Hi
We are booked ay BWV (our home resort) for Aug 2011. When we booked we added the DDp but we have not paid anything . Should we have done ? Looking for clarification thanks

As of 10/14/2010, you pay for the dining plan when added to a room reservation. If you added the dining plan prior to 10/14/2010, you will still pay at check-in.

My sister is thinking of coming with us.. can I add her on plus her dining plan after we make our reservation next week? When is the latest I can add her on?

Since you want to do the dining plan, you will have to add her to your reservation at least 48 hours in advance. You can do it when you decide to add and pay for the dining plan.

You can add the dinning plan up to 48 hrs prior to check in. If you only want to add to a portion of your stay then make sure you segment your trip in advance. I have done this with my October trip. Not sure if we want the dinning plan as of yet (have to see if I can get the ADR's I want) and not sure if DD will be joining us. So I just segemented the trip with the possible dates DD might be joining us. As well I segmented another portion for the dates I hope to switch to VB at the 7 month mark. This way it is just a switch on 1 full segment.

I have a somewhat related question:
Split stay (BCV and AKV) in July; I want to add the deluxe dining plan only to the BCV portion of the stay. I have my DVC reservations, but have not added on the dining plan (would like to do so close to the trip, so the money is in my pocket, rather than Disney's). Several of the dining reservations on the dining plan portion of the stay will require a CC in case of no-shows (Akershus, Cali Grill). Will proving a CC at the time I make the reservations, and later adding on the dining plan, cause any problems?

It shouldn't be a problem. I did this with a past ressie for Cindy's. They needed a credit card to book it but once there they used the DP credits. They only use the credit card to make payment if your a no-show or you request it at the time of paying your bill. I'm sure other's might have had problems but it worked fine for us.

Thank you so much. It's nice to know I don't need to worry about this.

We usually get the Dining Plan but up until October pay at check-in. I'm not sure what everyone's thoughts are around this but based on the change I know personally when we add the Dining Plan it will be 2 or 3 days prior to my arrival. It just doesn't seem to make sense to pay for it so far in advance.

Does anyone know if you rent points, can the renter give the owner a prepaid visa gift card, or a disney gift card to pay for the dining plan, rather than a Credit card?

That would be entirely up to the owner - all forms of payment are negotiable.

But I can't think of any reason why an owner wouldn't accept a prepaid card as long as Disney will accept the form of payment. I'm sure 99.99999% of owners would be happy to do so.

You have until 48 hours before. We added the dining plan to our trip yesterday and we leave tomorrow morning. Same thing with magical express.
