Disney Dining Plan Down

The Disney DIning Plan had been down today and no reservations have been able to be made, canceled or
Modified.

My family had an 845 pm reservation at Bongos and I informed the waiter we were on the Disney Dining Plan and would be using it and they told us we couldn't cause it was down! And nothing else they could do so we got up and left.

It really put a big damper on our last night. Currently just headed back to hotel to eat at the food court.

Anyone else get told today at a restaurant they couldn't use their dining plan? Really made me upset. And we won't even have a chance to use the dining credits we didn't use tonight

Sorry this happened to you. This doesn't help now, but you could have charged it to your room and then taken care of it back at the resort. If it really was down, they would have to be able to do something to help out everyone.

What a bummer! I would definitely talk to the front desk at your hotel about it.

Last year the system was down when we checked in at Pop. We ate at the food court, they took down our info on paper, and took off the meal credits the next day. Heard there was big problems elsewhere that night.

You should have just eaten there and let them charge it to your room.
They would have credited it back to you later.
We have had issues with the DDP before and they always straighten it out.
They just can't not let you use what you paid for.
The restaurants hands are tied but the resort can credit it back to you later.
We have even gotten the credit back and still been allowed to keep the dining credits for our trouble.

That definitely was unfortunate. Sorry the restaurant didn't suggest you doing what others and I would suggest which would have been to charge the meal to your room and have your resort guest services fix it afterwards. A side note - there must have been a bigger systems issue than just the dining credits not being able to be redeemed, because having the dining plan doesn't have anything to do with being able to make, cancel, or modify dining reservations. If you haven't already done so, I would take the matter up with Disney customer service to see about obtaining an appropriate credit for your unused dining credits.
