Disney Dining Plan, Dolphin?

Hello everyone, im from Wales in the UK and my last thread was posted a few months ago about the caribbean beach, me and my girlfriend had a fabolous time and are hooked on Disney. I had a lot of help from you lot in selecting my destination and i am thinking of booking the dolphin for next year and would like any opinions on the resort both good and bad. I have also read about the dining plan and it sounds fantastic i was just wondering if this feature was available at the dolphin as it is not disney owned, i understand that the dolphin resteraunts are not available but can i purchase the package anyway and eat elsewhere?

The Dolphin is totally wonderful, luxury resort. Much nicer than any of the disney resorts. Wonderful ammenities.

Unfortunately, at this time the S/D "restaurants" do not participate in the Disney Dining Plan, however as frequent (almost exclusive) guests of these resorts that does not stop us from staying here.

We've been Disney Dining Experience cardholders for several years now and although we cannot use this discount at the S/D we still get our money's worth and then some because we do dine at many of the Disney resort and park restaurants. Many Disney restaurants are within walking distance of the S/D so you may still want to consider the dining plan.

We do enjoy Fresh at the Dolphin and the Dolphin Fountain. We also enjoy Palio and Gullivers at the Swan. We'd really like to try Blue Zoo and Shula's but since they are on the pricey side we're more apt to go to a restaurant in the area that honors our DDE card.

It does look like the package is available in conjunction with a Dolphin stay. If you check out the official website and select the Dolphin as your resort, it is listed as one of the benefits however you may want to confirm this with Disney reservations.
