Disney Dining Plan and Leftovers

Absolutely - I never had room for dessert but let me just say that the carmel bread pudding just didn't have the same appeal after an overnight in the fridge and a reheat in the micro. They have the usual styrofoam containers.

The only places where anyone, Dining Plan or otherwise, ever has a problem with taking left-overs "home" is in AYCE situations, i.e., buffets, the Whispering Canyon Skillet, etc.

It's been a while, but I also remember a report of somebody having a very difficult time at Olivia's. They ended up having to order dessert, take a bite, then get it packed to go.

I remember reading about Olivia's too as a problem taking home their dessert....good remembering Kaytieeldr...

Sort of related to this thread, if you're staying non-DVC, is it possible to procure access to a microwave in a deluxe resort (we're staying at AKL and the Poly), so as to heat up any leftover entrees? Thanks!

I remember reading that there are microwaves in the food court areas of the values, probably in the moderates too. Never been to akl or poly but it would makes sense they would offer the same; either in a common eating area or concierge lounge. Just a guess.

I think we took our dessert with us from a couple of sit-downs back to our room. Unfortunately our mousekeeping staff felt the need to throw them out before we could eat them......hey, i just remembered another knock on FQ that I forgot about!

Oh!!! I would be so mad!!! I cannot believe they would do something like this...I would have contacted the front desk and had my say with the manager immediately. That is why the fridges are there...left overs, meds, morning milk, baby formula, etc and mousekeeping has NO RIGHT in your fridge until you are officially checked-out in my opinion!!! I guess I am just in the mood to be nasty...it is a rainy cold day here in central Indiana and I wish I were in warm, sunny FLORIDA!!! :lmao:

They are in POR...not sure about the other mods.

We took leftovers home from most places we ate :) The chocolate cakes and brownies at CS's got packed for breakfast and snacks.

At dinner we took home ribs, chicken and desserts.

I don't know about other places but ASMu family suites have microwaves which came in handy several times for tea and heating up foods.

Reading that, I see nowhere that it said the stuff was in the fridge..

actually, it was in the fridge. And also, I didn't feel the need to go through more aggravation with the front desk. We already had a bathroom that had mold on the shower curtain, the tiles on the wall were all broken and the tv didn't work. It took the front desk 3 days to get us a tv replacement or fix the problem. We won't ever go back to FQ....for sure.

The concierge desk and front desk were repeatedly rude as well.

Kind of sounds like our 2003 trip...we were at POR and the first 2 nights DH complained that he felt like he was sleeping with his head lower than his feet...I told him he was crazy but upon investigation the mattress was BROKEN and his head was lower than his feet!! We had mold on our shower curtain, broken tiles that were falling off of the wall in the shower, an outlet that did not work (before mods had fridges as a standard...we drove and took our own)...took 2 days after finding the broken mattress to get it replaced, never had the shower curtain replaced, broken tiles nor outlet were fixed in 9 days!!! We ended up plugging our fridge in at the dressing area outlet...not ideal! The only explanation we received was that a remodel was taking place within the next 30 days and they were "sorry"...not at all what I expected out of Disney. However, it has never been this bad since...Sorry you had such a bad experience...maybe your next trip will be better.

Fridge or no fridge...mousekeeping should NOT have touched it if it was in a to-go box and not in a trash can....just my opinion...they are there to clean the bathroom, make the beds, and remove the trash...nothing else....PERIOD.

well i'm counting on it being better next time, it certainly couldn't have been a much worse room, unless of course there were bedbugs.

I kind of thought the same thing but on our most recent visit we had the neighbors from he**!!! They had a knock-down-drag-out at 11pm then again at 1:30am...we called security and they stood outside the door listening (to our door 1st...can you believe that!!) then after a few minutes knocked on their door and asked about the disturbance...the neighbors said they had been asleep and there was no fighting but I do not know how they could claim it...at one point in time, I thought they would come through our wall...they were slamming each other around (against the walls) and screaming like raving maniacs ...I went outside and looked to see if I could hear where the commotion was coming from and seen their light on and their silhouettes pushing each other around!! My 3 kids were terrified!! The security guards were two--65 year oldish men that I am sure could not hear (even the loudest screaming)...they let them close the door and about 15 minutes later they went at it again (fighting)...they did this all night and not even the mgr on duty would do anything about it! I complained the next day and was told they could do nothing...the people were due to check out the next night...just call security AGAIN if we had another problem!! I LOVE all things Disney...especially WDW but felt like we really got the "shaft"...I would have taken a broken mattress over two nights without sleep any-day! I too am hoping our next trip is MUCH better...two nights with no sleep listening to other people's issues = GRUMPY MOMMA!! :lmao: But Bed-bugs...NO WAY....I will take the knock-down-drag-out!!!
