Hello dear DISers,

as a first-time Disneyworld visitor, I have a question which hopefully somebody can help me out with.
Here goes: My husband and I will be spending our honeymoon in Disneyworld in April / May, and I have already made all the Disney Dining reservations (a whopping 32 of them, since we will be on the Deluxe Dining Plan for two weeks).

Now I keep reading that it would have been a good idea to mention the fact that it's our honeymoon while making the ADRs. Apparently you can even get things like a menu that says "Happy Honeymoon" from some restaurants like Artists Point and Narcoossee's- I just read that on the Disney Mom's Panel.

Now, I'm sure you all see where this question is leading to:
Timid as I am, and a bit insecure about speaking on the phone in English (not my mother tongue), I did not once mention the honeymoon to Disney Dining! :sad2:

Now, what would you do? Call there again just to make the agent note our honeymoon for all these ADRs? This sounds like it is going to take forever, and the agent won't like it as it is so much unnecessary work for them ... On the other hand, of course I would like to make this honeymoon as magical as possible.

I am looking forward to your suggestions, thank you in advance :flower3: and have a great day!

You can tell the CM that answers your call and he/she will note it on your reservations for ALL your ADR's.. They will not have to put it on each individual one.

When DH and I celebrated our aniversary at Cali Grill, we were greeted at the Elevator with "Happy Aniversary", I was presented with a red rose, we were shown to a window table (great view of the boat parade) and then served a special aniversary dessert at the end of our meal.

I would definately call and have them note it. Don't expect to get special treatment at every meal, but they will try to make it special, based on availability and circumstances.

When you check in, see if the front desk has a pin that says "Just Married" or "On my Honeymoon" or something like that. If not, when you enter your first theme park look for a Guest services desk there and ask them about a pin. That way, you won't have to tell everyone in the park if you are uncomfortable doing it.

I'd like to offer a bit of caution ... just because there is a notation on your ADR that you are celebrating something does not mean that the restaurant will do anything at all to commemorate it. I say this only because there have been plenty of stories here of people who did just what you're talking of doing and went to WDW with huge expectations only to end up very disappointed.

So have your reservations noted and be sure to pick up your honeymoon buttons when you check into your hotel and have a lovely trip and keep your expectations realisitc.

Congratulations!

Thank you for your advice, everyone! It is good to know that I can make them write down the info for all ADRs in one go, so I will probably try that (once I've worked up my courage to call there yet again, so probably not today :rolleyes1 )

Thank you also for telling me about the Just Married buttons, yes I have heard about them and I definitely intend not only to get them, but even to make my poor husband wear one! :rotfl:

Oybolshoi, good on you for cautioning me not to expect too much. I realize that they can't make something special happen for all the probably hundreds of honeymooning couples that visit every day, so I will heed your advice and try not to get my hopes up too much!

ANNICHAN: Don't worry about your accent or how much English you know. From all my trips to Germany, I have found that the English spoken by my german co-workers and friends to always have been easily understood. I'm sure the way I spoke (tried to speak) German really grated on their ears but they were always polite and appreciative of my poor attempts. I say:

Gehen Sie für es und haben Sie wundervollen Flitterwochen!

I hope that is close!

Eeyore's Buddy: What a nice thing to say, thank you! (And almost perfect German, too!:woohoo: )

Actually, it has taken me a few more days to work up my courage for calling Disney Dining again (and I admit that a few sips of wine have helped me loosen up for the task as well :rolleyes1 ) ...

But I JUST DID IT!! And I am so happy! :cool1:

I spoke to the nicest lady, she spoke slowly so I could understand her perfectly well, and she took the time to confirm every single one of my ADRs and put down the fact that it's going to be our honeymoon, too!

I feel that it was really worth it as I have all my ADR times confirmed now, and she also said that my name had been misspelled on many of these ADRs so she fixed it and put it all together under my hotel reservation no. which it hadn't been before (she even muttered "silly people" once while putting some information in the computer:laughing: ).

Woohoo, now I can't wait for that honeymoon of ours to finally begin! :cheer2:
