Disney Dining Expierence

I find it unnecessarily inconvenient that they stopped giving the second card for free. It's almost like they don't want us dining in the parks???

I think it had more to do with abuse.

What was to stop people from ordering a second card for someone not in their household & that was neither a FL resident or AP holder & sharing the cost with them? Thereby, theoretically at least, enabling 2 parties of 10 use the discount that was paid for by 1 membership.

Like so many things, when too many people try to "work" the system it eventually ruins things for those who play by the rules.

We rarely ever split up at meal time so it really wasn't an issue for us but I do see how it could be for some.

This card is definitely worth the money. We are a family of 4 so it paid for itself in one trip. The card is $65 for the year if you are an AP. You will only get one card and it costs extra if you want a second card. My DH is always with us so we don't need the extra card.

When you get your card in the mail they will give you a list of all the participating restaurants so make sure you don't lose that.

Around $300 seems to be the tipping point in where you will start saving money with the DDE card. If you think you will spend more than $300 in meals/alcohol at the qualifying restaurants, it's a good idea. If you will spend less than $300, you won't save enough to cover what you paid for the card ($60-65)

The break even point is now $325 with the AP cost of the card at $65 ($325 x 20% = $65). I take two seven to eight day trips to WDW per year so card really saves me alot of $. Remember that you also save 20$ on wine and alcholic drinks so if you partake in "spirits" while on your WDW vacation, there's an extra savings for you.

I had to show my ID mostly at the counter service at our hotel. SO be prepared to show it if they ask....IT is well worth having.......we always eat together too so having the DDE card for one is enough for us.....We go in 12 days and I am READY AND RARING TO GO......Staying at French Quarter ....The CM that we made our ressies with said that we could not use it at Riverside .....but it didnt matter because we wanted F Q......
This is our third trip with this AP and also DDE too
