I just read something about the Disney Dining Experience for Florida residents... can someone tell me what this is? My sis lives in FL and will be joining us at WDW in June...she may need to join! Thanks!

from mouse savers site:

Florida Residents can join Disney's Dining Experience and enjoy discounts of 20% at most restaurants in the Disney theme parks and resort hotels -- even Victoria & Albert's. Cost is $75 per year for general Florida residents; $70 for Annual and Seasonal Passholders; and $60 for all renewing members. You must have a valid Florida Driver's License or Florida state-issued ID card with a Florida address to join this program. Call (407) WDW-DINE for information, or log into the Florida Residents section of DisneyWorld.com and click on Tickets.

AP gives about 10% off I think, so it may or may not be worth the money...

It's a great card to have!!:hyper:

I'm not sure, but it might, I think the AP discount is only good at sitdowns. You might have to call Disney to find out.

Does the discount apply to counter service restaurants, too?

Some of them. I know that a couple in AK are, and a few of the resort food courts but it's mostly sit down restaurants.

Whenever I eat anywhere on property I ask if the DDE card is good.
Yesterday at Earl of Sandwich my DDE card was not good. They said "not yet". So guessing it soon will be.
I was able to use my AP discount there.

I am going to organize this afternoon. When I run across my membership benefits letter, I will post more. It covers most restaurants.

Seems AP discounts are only good for sit down lunches. Rarely have I had a meal discount against my AP.

And the DDE card is 20%.

The DDE card also includes liquor, don't let them tell you otherwise.

Yes, I was thinking the flyer read discount on beverages. We used it at Chefs de France last weekend and were excluded a discount on our ice teas!

Do you have to carry the FL ID with you in the park and show it every time?

Once I was asked for it. Once I wasn't.
When they asked for my ID, they REALLY scrutinized it comparing my photo to me. I just kidded and said -- Yep, that's me.

unless the resort doesn't have one, then they are accepted at the Food Courts...
We have had ours for many years and always renew. We go alot though.
A new card costs around $70.00 a year. :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

They are not accepted at many if any other counter food services.
Also they ask me every time for my card, they have to write my name and the card number:smooth: :smooth:

We have also always recieved a discount on any beverages, we used to get a discount at the pool bars but they stopped that one a few years ago..pirate: pirate:

"Attend delightful events"
"Party at Pleasure Island for half price."
Free admission at Atlantic Dance Hall for club member and a guest.

Does look like most are sit down. Although I see the counter services for DAK are included.

You tell them Cheryl .... The All Star Cafe tried telling me one time that it didn't include the liquor.... I had to "politly" explain that it did!!! After getting the manager & then the manager had to verify it... my bill was changed to show the discount on the liquor::yes::

Free parking if entering theme parks after 5pm, if prior to 5pm, you must pay for the parking and present your paid parking rec'pt along with your paid food bill from a participating resturant at guest service's in the front of the theme park. They will then refund you your parking fee.
