Does anyone know if you can get the DDE card with the annual pass discount before you actually have your AP , right now we have the AP exchange certificates but want to order the card before we go and we won't have the actual AP till we get there in Aug.

Yes you can. When you call they will ask for the number on the back of the exchange certificate.

The DDE cards are good for 1 year after you recieve them NOT for a 1 year from first use so if you have a trip planned for Aug 07 before your AP's expire you may want to wait til mid July to order them so you'll get a 8/07 expire date. I think if you call they will tell you what expire date you will get.

OK, so I answered my own questions...unfortunately since we are not Florida residence and aren't staying on property we are not eligbile for yet another thing!

You are eligible for the DDE even if you aren't staying on property...you just need an AP (one will do, you don't need to buy for your whole party). DDE gives you 20% off at most TS and some CS restaurants. If you're staying for a long visit or several short ones over the year, and plan on eating lots of TS meals, the DDE will pay off that AP in no time!

You are not eligible for the Disney Dining PLAN unless you are staying on property. That's a prepaid food plan.

How long is it really taking everyone to receive their DDE card once ordered I know it says 3-4 weeks on the order form, but is that really the case?

It took me nearly 4 weeks. I ordered it on 8/1 and got it just before my trip-I think 8/26. I really didn't want to have to pick it up at Epcot because we were doing lunch our first day at Sci Fi at MGM. My cards had a 8/31/06 expire date.

I called yesturday to get the Dinning Experiance, the lady told me not to order it untill closer to our trip (may 29) because they are activated AS SOON AS YOU PURCHACE them not when they arrive.

I ordered my card Jan. 2 and it probably took two weeks to receive it.

I was hopeing to get our AP's at the airport when we arrive. Can I get my DDE then, or do I have to order it weeks in advance, because I don't think I could get it without the AP.? Can I go to a park, show my AP and get a DDE card then?

You can only order the DDE card over the phone. Depending on what day you arrive you can call from the airport(I believe they are only open Mon-Fri), but you probably won't be able to pick up the temp card that day. We ordered ours from home on 1/18 for our 2/11 trip. We had AP exchange vouchers. We picked the temp DDE card up at the Epcot guest services window outside the park when we got here. Our DDE card expires 03/07, so we will be able to get 2 more trips out of it. We saved OVER $200 this trip alone and that's AFTER the cost of the DDE card! VERY WELL WORTH IT! It's even worth buying an AP just to be eligible for all the discounts!
