Can anyone enlighten me about the DDE? Have you purchased one? Is it a good deal? Thanks! :cool1:

I bought one for $50 using the AP discount. It's a great deal if you plan meals at the sit-down restaurants like we do. You get 20% off food and alcohol. Mine has already paid for itself. At AK since there is no sit-down you can get the discount at the Flame Tree BBQ. You get a list of all the participating restaurants. My only disappointment is that Japan in Epcot does not offer any discounts. It takes a while to get the card (~8 weeks), but I was able to use the confirmation letter until the card came.

I thought the restaurant in Japan was valid as well???

just curious..

I believe it is worth it.. we are going in 5 days & will let you know.
made 4 PS already.
DH & I also plan to use in in the bar at CR and BW

that should be worth it right there?

Yes you do get 20% off meals for up to 9 people and it includes 20% off alcohol too. This is available only for Annual Passholders and FL residents.

Where do you get the list of participating eateries? I'd like to do this on our next trip since our DS and DD are now teens and we do end up eating at a sit-down at least once, if not twice, a day. We've been purchasing an AP the last few trips, due to the length of our stay, so that's not an issue.
thanks :wave2: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

We just got back from a 10 day visit and used our card. We had a party of 9 with 7 adults and 2 kids. Our card paid for itself in about 1.5 days. It was great. We were also disappointed to see Teppanyaki's did not take the card but of course ate there anyway! :earboy2: We were happy to have bought it.

We were able to use it and pay for it the 2nd day also. :cheer2: :cheer2:

We are planing to save the savings from DDE to pay for our renewal APs and DDE next year since we have 4 more stays before it expires. We were very pleasantly surprised to find that it worked for the Breakfastsaurus and Princess Luncheon last week, those 2 meals and the Flying Fish Dinner for 4 has put us with 1/2 of 1 AP paid for already.

Many thanks to Disney for this great perk. We only decided to get it after DVC members got the great discount on APs this year so we are way ahead of the game now! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

DDE is WONDERFUL!!! There are six of us (4 "adult" & 2 children), we did at least one sit down meal a day and the card MORE than paid for itself in one trip!!!

We were a party of 5 for a 10-day visit to WDW at the end of May. Our card paid for itself within 2 days!!!

I just bought an AP, and now want to get the DDE card. Do I buy in on the offical Disney World website under AP members area? Any help would be great! :flower:

I called 407-566-5858 & ordered the card over the phone. All they needed was numbers off of the back of the voucher.

We paid for the DDE card with one dinner for 4 at California Grill - the savings after that, in one trip for 3 people were probably somewhere near the $100-$150 mark. We have 2 more trips, one for 2 of us & one for 7 of us, making the DDE invaluable....

I ordered mine back in late Dec-early Jan as soon as it was announced for AP holders. I used it on our January trip and it more than paid for itself on that one trip. When I went back solo in May I had intentionally planned alot of PS to eat places my picky son and GD didn't want to try in January. I kept all but one of those PS and used the DDE at each one (plus at the POP food court). When I take my younger son and D-I-L in Sept we are using the MYW dining plan, because it is a better deal for us, but I'm also taking my DDE card to use for things like breakfast at POP or maybe an extra sit down meal, if we decide to go to a signature restaraunt that will require 2 of our MYW sit downs. If we happen to run out of food with the MYW dining plan, I'll still have the DDE card to fall back on (or in case my son wants a late snack at the POP food court). I'm also going back to WDW in Dec (either solo or with my mother) and will use the DDE card then. So yes it is definitely worth it, even for just one trip, but if you plan to make several trips in a year, which most AP holders will, then it's definitely a good deal.
