Could someone out there tell me if I can utilize my Disney Dining Experience card during free dining? Now that gratuity is not included in the free dining this would help. If the total cost of my meals is 20% less then can I tip on that amount? Or do they just automatically charge the full rate during the free dining plan since it is considered "free" and expect 18% gratuity on that amount? Also, is 18% gratuity truly expected at the buffets? I know that the waiters/waitresses do a great job but it still seems like a lot for what they do and I would imagine that they have more tables assigned to them in a buffet restaurant than they do in a full service restaurant such as the Brown Derby. I had heard that when utilizing the Dining Experience card (not during free dining) that 18% is automatically added into the bill. Is this true? I am new at this and will be using this card for the first time in September during free dining and then again in December. Thanks!
