Disney Dining Experience Card now available for AP Passholders

It's available to everyone? I thought it was still restricted to APs and Fl residents...with FL residenta that are non-AP holders paying the "regular" price for the program.

Yep Chuck! I don't know how this sneaked past some of us! Look here on Deb's Site http://allearsnet.com/din/dde.htm I was also just going to check our site here to see if they have confirmed it but can't find anything. Honestly, this is what I had suspected all along, that it was available to everyone now and AP's get the $25 off discount.

I'll give my report on the DDE experience. I was only able to get thru and purchase the card while at the airport waiting for my flight to Orlando. The people at DDE were great, and faxed a confirmation to Allstars where I was staying. I was asked for ID maybe 3 times. On my last day at AllStars, the CM in the food court refused to accept my confirmation. I asked her to check with someone else, as I had used it there for five days. She got out of her seat, walked around to the next cashier, rolling her eyes, and making clicking noises with her tongue (like tsk-tsk) Of course the other CM said use it. After she rang me up, she started quizzing me--why are you doing this, you only saved a few pennies; why don't you have a card, are you doing something wrong?? I was really upset; I spoke to the manager who said she was sorry for the behavior.

I also had trouble using my confirmation at Restaurantasaurus--after a very lengthy delay, a second manager stepped over and bought our meal for us (I didn't know what was going on until they handed me a paid receipt).

I had to remind most staff, but towards the end of the week, we were getting the discount as explained.

Just called - sice we aren't going until June, they suggested we wait until then. The CM I got said he even had a call today from a guest at MK and was able to fax the letter to guest services in time for the guest to get lunch with the discount!

Well, I just called the DDE line and confirmed it is available to anyone for the $75 price!

I love the DDE card. It's a great deal. But wow, they are opening it up to everyone?

It's like a drug dealer giving out "free" samples to get you hooked!!!

It's a great savings and encourages frequent use. And just like the APs also encourage multiple trips!

I have a feeling that next year, they are going to raise the price to
$150 per year! By that time, there will be tons of people who are hooked and can't do without their 20% discount. There's only one way to recoup the increased fee... eat out MORE!!!!

Terry, yeah, that's what I was trying to ask about a few pages back.

That the page on Deb's site sounded like ANYONE could buy it for $75. So I was checking here to see if someone knew if that was really true, or if it's worded unclearly.

If it really is true, that'd be so good!

Whoops, didn't read a few posts down. Thanks for asking DDE directly, Terry! Hopefully they gave you the right info. :)

disneyberry, I even pointed out to her that the recording at the beginning which previously only said Florida Residents now says only available only to Florida residents and AP holders. She said she knew that and they hadn't had a chance to fix it. Soooo, I have a feeling that it was originally going to be FL residents and AP holders only but they had a lot of complaints and changed thier mind.
