Disney Dining,DIS Meets, and WAIT-Why is that lady holding..... FINAL THOUGHTS 11/27

Thanks, Jackie! I really would love to have a gardenia, too, but it gets just a little too cool during the winter for it, or so I've been told. I think they are beautiful, not to mention how divine they smell! :thumbsup2

Really? I can't imagine it gets colder where you are compared to where we are...I would plant a little one and just see how it does. ;) We have them lining the fence in the back, and they do fantastic.

well they were blue but I dont take sides between Carolina and Duke bc I am originally from Jersey and have friends that like both teams. I enjoy watching both teams but I am still a professional sports fan over college sports! who knows if that will be true in a few years:confused3!!

Oh! I just asked because my DH lived in NC from about 12 years old until he graduated high school. He is a HUGE NC Tarhill basketball fan.

I've finally made it, Michelle! And I'm already 5 pages behind! Wow! The pictures of your flowers are absolutely beautiful - I love hydrangeas! They also make me think of my grandmother, her yard was (and still is) full of them. :cloud9: I'm hoping to incorporate them into my wedding!

Can't wait to hear all about the trip! popcorn::

Are you near Atlanta? We are in the extreme northwest corner of AL---Tennessee is only about 12-15 miles north from where we live.

But I should try one. I think I may..................:)

YAY! :yay: I'm so glad you're here, Courtney! You haven't missed much of anything yet. To tell the truth, I'm stalling, waiting on my photopass CD. I have a couple of updates I can do without it, like the first night to Tallahassee, and some souvenir updates. But then I'll be ready for the PP pics.

I love hydrangeas in a wedding---I think they're so pretty and they're just so Southern! :)

I just planted a hydrangea this spring - I hope it grows up to be as pretty as yours!

We live about an hour from the Tennessee border. Try one and then, if it does well you can plant more. ::yes:: I am such a sucker for gardenias -- I even had them in my wedding bouquet.

I love hydrangeas and the blue ones are my favorite...
I forget what kind of soil makes them that way. Is it acidic or alkali?

I'm joining and YES, I'm a man:hippie: (A TR I joined 3 weeks) ago they thought I was a gal:scared1:

Well, then we aren't far apart-climate wise, are we?

I will definitely try one---I love the smell. Very romantic of you, Ms. Jackie, to have those in your wedding bouquet. :thumbsup2

Are you kidding me? :rotfl: I teach MATH...............no science terminology for me!

 Hey, I'm just a shade less confused about it than you are!

No, seriously, I know that you can change the color of the hydrangea by changing the acidity of the soil... that's why some are pink and others are blue.

My parents who live on the Jersey Shore have blue flowers and I remember when I was a teenager thinking that it would freak them out if one year they "somehow" bloomed in pink!! ;)

(Never quite got up the courage to try that prank!)

Kathy

Well, I always heard that if you wanted to change the blue bloom (like I have) to a pink one, you could put some rusty nails or pennies around the plant in the soil.

Now whether that increases the acidity or the alkali, :confused3 I have no idea! :rotfl:
