Disney Dining,DIS Meets, and WAIT-Why is that lady holding..... FINAL THOUGHTS 11/27

I'm glad you're back, Michelle! :goodvibes From the picture, it looks like Rachel had a great time at cheer camp! I'm going to have to check out your album on FB! :thumbsup2

I finally have caught up on your trip report, a week at WDW was wonderful, but put me behind on my Dising(is that a word.).

Your pictures are wonderful . I loved the AK pictures and the pictures outside of CP. The girls have changed a good bit between pictures. I taught Alg 1 to 8th graders for about 6 years. Sometimes how well they did was more about their maturity level than their math level. I loved teaching the class. At the end of the school year they had to pass the high school Alg 1 test given state wide in order to get credit for the class and move on to geometry.

It was great to hear you survived cheerleading camp.

Glad you guys had a good time at Cheer Camp!!!

Thanks! :) We did-but I'm glad to be home!

Glad you had fun at cheer camp, but so glad I didn't have to go! :lmao:

How's your laundry coming? popcorn::

Thanks, Denise! :) I bet you are glad you didn't have to go! I'm glad to be home.

Now, the laundry..........................that's another story. ;)

I'm glad you're back, Michelle! :goodvibes From the picture, it looks like Rachel had a great time at cheer camp! I'm going to have to check out your album on FB! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Courtney! :) I only put a few pictures on the album. Would you believe there was one day I forgot to take pictures? :headache:

Thanks about the pictures. It's always neat to look back and see how your kids have changed through the visits. :goodvibes

Magic Kingdom EMH---5/23/2010

Sunday, May 23---Part 3

We finished our dinner at Crystal Palace and headed out a little bit before 9 p.m. Main Street was already filling up for the 9 o’clock Spectro. So we headed into Adventure land and wandered over to PoC.

When we finished we continued into Frontier land and grabbed fast passes for BTMR. Then we walked over to Haunted Mansion and rode. (Excuse the daylight skies in this picture---Obviously, it wasn’t made this time.)

When we finished up, it was close to 10 o’clock, so we quickly walked to the hub to try to catch Wishes. Because we got there so close to 10, we really weren’t in such a great location, so we didn’t even try to get any pictures. (We knew we’d be back on another night.)

After Wishes, we walked back to BTMR and used our fastpasses. After riding, we decided to grab a spot in Frontier land to watch the 11 o’clock Spectro. We had just grabbed a spot to sit and wait when I got a text from a friend. We actually go to church together, and Reid and their youngest are in the same grade/school together. I had tried to help her plan her family’s first trip to Disney, and our trips actually overlapped minus a day or two. Anyway, she texted me and asked me which park we were in. I told her we were grabbing a spot for Spectro, and she texted back that they were in MK too, and had a spot on the hub for Spectro. Did we want to come sit with them? We thought that’d be fun to talk to some hometown friends, so we walked over to the hub and found them right near the entrance to Liberty Square. We had fun chatting and catching up. I really enjoyed hearing how their trip had been so far, especially since it was their first time. Soon, it was 11, and time for Spectro to begin.

We paused up to have a picture made of our family and the Bridges family.

IMG_1257.jpg

Magic Kingdom closed at 11 o’clock that night, so many people began to leave after Spectro finished. However, the park was open for EMH that night until 2 a.m. We had planned to stay, and the Bridges were as well. We decided to all walk over to Space Mountain and see how long the stand-by line looked.

IMG_1259.jpg

When we got there, the standby time posted was 50 minutes, and none of us wanted to wait that long. We decided we would separate and ride some things we wanted to catch, and meet back at SM around 1 a.m. to see if the line time had lessened. Our family went to the Laugh Floor, and had a fun time. I can’t remember what else we did, but I think we sat down and had some ice cream from that ice cream shop there in Tomorrow land.

A little bit before 1 a.m., we walked back over to the entrance of Space Mtn., and waited for the Bridges family. When they arrived, we discussed riding SM---the stand by time had only gone down 10 minutes. The posted time was 40 minutes, and it was 1:10 a.m. We decided to go for it, so we got in line. I don’t think it actually took 40 minutes, probably closer to about 20-25 instead. It went by quickly, as we talked through the line with our friends.

When we finished, we headed back toward Main St. The time was-

We almost closed the park! By the time we caught a Beach Club bus, returned to our room, and showered, we were in the bed by 3 a.m.

Tomorrow was a scheduled sleep-in day! :woohoo:

UP NEXT: Storm-a-long Bay and An Anniversary Dinner for Two

That is so cool that you got to hang out with friends from back home. I love that you thought to have your picture made with them in front of the castle. That's a once-in-a-lifetime shot, I bet. The spectro pictures are great. It's hard to get good pics of that parade.

How was the wait for the busses at 2am? You guys sure got your "money's worth" out of the EMH!!

I just love Spectro. :cloud9: And what a wonderful picture in front of the castle! How neat that you got to meet up with your friends from home!

I'm excited for your next update! I can't wait to hear about your anniversary dinner! :goodvibes

Great update. Yay for not waiting the 40 minutes!!! Wonder how long you guys slept after being up til 3am.

Up til 3am?! :faint: Holy cow. I'm not sure I have it in me. But looks super fun! Very cool to hang out with some friends from home. Hopefully they heeded your advice and made the most of their first trip?

Looking forward to tales of SAB and Happy Anniversary! :)

The pictures of the parade were wonderful. It was great that you were able to share time with your friends and get a hub view for the parade. Then you were able to ride Space Mountain with them.

Nice TR! I really want to do night time EMH at MK the next time we go.
I am a huge Vera Bradley fan so I love the park bags!

I'm glad you had such a great time at cheer camp with Rachel!

Randy and Alisa were at MK for EMH that night, but Randy became exhausted by 11. They didn't stay for any of the late night fun. It's so cool that yall spent time there with friends! It sounds like it was a fun night!

Great Spectro pics Michelle!

Next trip I'm determined to do MK EMHs with the boys followed by a sleep in, go to the pool day :thumbsup2

Hello!!!! Oh my goodness---I guess I never subbed to the report after I started reading it?! :confused3 I am LOVING it!!! That story about your DH and the lady was sooo funny!! The kids look so happy-I just love the picture of the girls when they were younger walking to the castle. I am glad that your DD had a great cheer camp! Can't wait to do that with my DD! Looking forward to reading about your Anniversary Dinner

That's so cool that you were able to meet up with your friends, and that they had room for you in the hub! :thumbsup2 Love the picture of both families together!

I'm looking forward to hearing about your anniversary!

Awesome Spectro pics! How neat that you got to meet up with your church friends and get such a good pic together! I can't wait until my kiddos are old enough to handle late nights.

Just joining in now, but I caught myself all up!! I love your writing/pictures!! Plus, the story of the woman and Kevin on EE is hysterical!!

It was so much fun to visit with them. Holly (the mom of the bunch) printed her pictures right away when she got home, and she gave me a copy of one from her camera. We put it on our fridge to remember fun times.

Elizabeth actually took the pictures of Spectro. She did a good job, but wow, did she take a lot of pics. I think she took one of every float.

Not too bad a wait for a bus at 2 a.m. We managed to get on one, ride back to BC, and get showers, and everyone was still in the bed by 3. :thumbsup2

Thanks, Courtney! :) It was nice to visit with them. I think I enjoyed hearing about their trip as much as I did watching Spectro.

Great update. Yay for not waiting the 40 minutes!!! Wonder how long you guys slept after being up til 3am.

Thanks! :) We slept pretty late; of course, some younger, teenaged people slept even later than the old folks! ;)

We usually keep the late EMHs when we're at Disney. As long as I keep moving, I'm usually pretty good. It's when I stop that I have a hard time moving again at those hours!

I had loaned my friend several books, and she carried them into the parks. She said they'd get them out each morning and review what they needed to do first thing in the park.

She said they had a great time. :thumbsup2 I'm so glad they enjoyed their first trip.

We had fun visiting with them.

We usually watch Spectro from over in frontierland, so it was fun to see it in a different setting. :)

Nice TR! I really want to do night time EMH at MK the next time we go.

Thanks! :)

I love all the evening magic hours at the parks. To me, it's just one of the best times to be in any of the parks.

We happen to like the VB at our house, too! It seems we have a rather large collection. :rolleyes1
