Hi fellow SB Dieter
I've been following SBD for a long time now. I plan to follow it as much as I can in WDW.
Food I'm taking with me for snacks and breakfast:
-Laughing cow cheese wedges
-A jar of all natural peanut butter
-Jar of sugarfree jam
-Cans of low sodium V-8
-Lowfat Triscuits
-Small sized stone ground wheat pitas
I'm debating on whether to bring a box of SBD meal replacement bars or cereal bars. You might also opt for pre-portioned and pre-packaged baggies of nuts.
If you are stopping at a supermarket along the way and if you have a fridge in your room, get some: raw veggies, yogurt, ricotta, etc.. if you are looking for a snack.
I will likely buy yogurt at CS and snack places while I'm there.
I've found it VERY helpful so far to familiarize myself with the menus posted on wdwinfo site or allears. We have several ADR's and ideas about CS options already, so I know several places we are going. I've gone through the menus and picked out the SBD choices I would enjoy.
I plan to choose alot of chicken caesar salads, rotisserie chicken breasts, grilled seafood, grilled chicken, or turkey sandwiches and skipping the bread. Steaks at higher quality restaurants (like Le Cellier) are likely lean-be sure to ask for no sauce or sauce on the side. Sometimes it's just the sauce ruining the whole meal-they are often LOADED in sugar. Ask for no sauce/butter on any veggies you order.
Enjoy a glass of wine, if you like wine. Try to limit your beer intake.
As for desserts, WDW acually offers quite a bit of sugar free options. That said, I personally tend to avoid them. Sugar free desserts tend to have ALOT of fat in them. If I am looking to splurge, I prefer to have a few bites of the real fudge brownie rather than a whole sugar free brownie that is still high in fat but tastes aweful. That's just me though, and I'm sure you have your own things you follow. I've actually seen sugar free/fat free frozen yogurt listed in a few restaurants in WDW. Lots of places offer fresh fruit (just remember to avoid the pineapples and other high sugar fruits.
Please feel free to PM me if you have any more questions.
I've been on SBD for a while now and I've become pretty knowledgeable about it!
5 more days till WDW!!
