We booked our 1st WDW vacation in over 6 years. I decided it was a good time to shed some of the pounds I have put on over those 6 years (way too many to mention - let's just say that I have been frequenting the WDW at large page on allears). My original goal was to lose 50 pounds before Sept 19th trip. Then free dining came along and bumped it to 60!

15 pounds gone so far in April, so here's to a good start!

WOW! thats a great start! I lost 10 lbs in 3!!! months. Stinks!!! Hopefully with the better weather, it will help more, I love to walk outside much more than the treadmill. I'd like to lose 60 by our Nov. trip but I will settle for 40 or 50 even!

I know the pain of wanting to lose weight. I have lost only to put it back on. I even bought my own bowflex machine for home and tore a muscle in my shoulder so now I am reduced to walking everyday, at least it is something. I lost 40 pounds last year but gained it back. I have become so depressed lately about my weight and it is causing me great anguish. The thing of it is that I don't want to be skinny, I would be happy being a size 14. Sometimes I don't even like my husband touching me because I feel grossed out because of the way that I fell about myself. Life is rough sometimes!!

Well done on the 15lb loss:cheer2:

Thanks! Hoping to hit 18-19 before the end of the month. Not really sure why motivation is different this time (over the past million times I tried), but it just feels different this time. Probably just the excitement of going back to my "Happy Place".

Great job! Consider joining Weight Watchers. I lost almost 50 pounds 3 years ago and slowly put 20 back on. In the past I have always lost weight on my own. This time I decided I needed support. I am really enjoying all the people I have met. The meetings are so inspirational. I think of it more as a lifestyle change, versus a diet and I plan to continue my once a week meetings forever. I have lost 13 pounds so far. Very slow and steady. I know I would have given up a couple of times if it were not for the weekly meetings. Don't mean to sound pushy, but wanted you to know this has worked for me.

it's taken me 8 months but i'll lost close to 50 pounds with doing the weight watchers on my own, i actually didn't exercise the first 6 months.. i just lost following the weight watchers "core" plan on my own (i got the books from ebay) and it's been slow the past 2 months but i lost 10.. now i want to loose 10 more before my trip in june... i need to buy some shorts but i want to wait till i loose those lsat 10... i will be happy with loosing 20 more..

a size 14 would be GREAT but im aiming for a size 16... i feel like i could be "ok" with how i look at a size 16. but right now im just trying to hold off the pounds i put on and it's sooooooo hard!

i hate to exercise just because i feel like it's a waste of time.. like you could be doing somethign else that needs to be done.

anyways! good luck everyone!

My wife and I actually did weight watchers many years ago. It did work very well. I just was ALWAYS the only guy there. Right now I am just keeping a very detailed food journal. I am an EXCEL geek and have set myself up on a calorie tracker and food journal spreadsheet. I found a great article that had a mathematical formula - terms I could understand - to take your current weight times 12. This is the number of calories that you need per day to maintain your current weight. Each 500 calorie per day reduction should equal out to a pound per week of loss. I set myself out for a 2000 calorie reduction and this should lend itself to 4 pounds a week. So far it has held exactly!

I really feels different this time. I have my log and my formulas, and best thing yet - it seems to be working. I already have more energy - and that is lending itself to more exercise and activity. My goal is that by September I do not have to worry about 1. the airplane ride or 2. any CM having to make accommodations for me - which they always do gracefully!

i've lost pounds but not much inches at all. i actually only went down one size and it's not even completely down... i think ive gained more muscles then anything else.

:confused3

i've been on a disney diet myself! i just want to finally love seeing vacation pix when i get them back! it's taken almost 4 months to lose 15 pounds, but i haven't exactly gone into major-league diet mode! i just work out 5-6 days a week (typically) and try to watch portions....nothing is completely off limits. it's been kinda slow going, but i think it's something i can stick with! congrats on everyone else's weight loss(es)! it seems like we're all in good company on this one!

i've heard LOTS of good things about weight watchers....i have a friend who absolutely swears by it!

I'd like to lose 20 lbs by my July trip and another 20 before my December trip.

I finally got on my elliptical this afternoon. I have set a goal for myself to pick up my two year old by 4:15 everyday and come home and do at least 20 minutes on the machine and drink more water.

I have lost about 6 pounds without trying too hard but know I need to get motivated.

Best of luck to all in this never ending battle!:thumbsup2 :yay: :hourglass

Congratulations to everybody on their weight loss!! That's so great! :thumbsup2

For me, I keep thinking if I can just lose some weight, walking will be a little easier at WDW and maybe, just maybe, my feet won't be killing me at the end of the day. :scared:

Great job on the weight loss!

I'm on a Disney diet too. I started January 1st and I lost 28 pounds so far. Unfortunately I have about 39 to go to be my goal weight. Oh I'll be so happy if I can reach that weight because I haven't seen it since before I had my DS and he's 11! :scared1:

If I think about it, 39 pounds doesn't sound like so much. If I can stick to my diet and lost 2 lbs a week, it will take 19 1/2 weeks to reach the goal weight. My trip is in about 16 weeks, so hopefully I'll be near that weight.

I guess I should point out I'm not on a Disney Diet... I'm on a Universal Studios and Island of Aventures Diet?

but it's all the same when it comes to the diet!

Good Luck everyone!:thumbsup2

Congratulations on your weight loss! Keep up the good work. :thumbsup2

I'm on a Disney diet as well. I'm doing Weight Watchers, I'd like to lose 30 lbs. by our October 3 departure. We're staying at the Poly and I know I am going to want to hit the beach to make sandcastles and I don't want to be mistaken for a beached whale. You know, because there are a ton of whales living in the lake.
