Last week, the Disney Destiny reached an exciting milestone as it touched water for the first time! The "float up" process involved filling the building dock with water from the Ems River, lifting the ship from the chamber floor. Now, the team will begin testing various systems, including the main engines, while continuing to build out the legendary interior spaces of the Disney Destiny.

I'm sure it will be fantastic, but this is one ship I'll probably skip out on. Not a fan of the Marvel heavy decor, including Spiderman on the stern.

I'm not mad at Disney for going that route but it definitely isn't my style. And that's okay!

That's fair. I am not a fan of Aladdin which (along with the price tag) is what is really holding me back from the Treasure. I'll eventually give in and go on her because i want to see the Moana show. But I don't like Aladdin. At all.

Other than the statues in the atrium, I don't recall heavy Aladdin theming on the Treasure. The colors are absolutely beautiful and you could correlate them with Agrabah, but if you didn't know it was tied to Aladdin I'm not sure you'd guess. It wasn't Aladdin in your face at all.

There are lots of Aladdin touches beyond the atrium statue on the Treasure. Mosaics, elevator theming, carpets with Aladdin insignia.

In your face can mean many different things but I would never accuse any of the Wish class ships as being subtle in their theming.

Ok then I guess I missed all of that! I just didn't make a big connection between the theming and it being Aladdin-I just thought it was a gorgeous ship! 🤣

There is really not much in your face Aladdin theming on the Treasure. Other than the main lobby and some touches in some of the staterooms it's really not invasive.

Wait what? So you mustnt like the fantasy or wish then. Especially the fantasy given how much aladdin stuff is on that ship.

Thats good. Subtle theming is jist another term for poor theming.

The only Aladdin thing I've seen on there was a show and that's easily skippable.

The Wish I have not been on yet, but I plan to skip both Aladdin and The Little Mermaid on that one.

But why skip the shows? Thats one of the main reasons for doing disney cruises. One of the reasons you pay so much money for disney cruises is to fund those musical productions. If you dont go to them you arent getting your moneys worth in my opinion.

Plus its not one show. Its two shows. Aladdins genie is the main character of the third show. Jasmine is also one of the princesses on the ship. On my recent 12 night Fantasy cruise there was also an awful lot of Aladdin theming in the minor music productions and game shows.

On the treasure aladdin is just in the background on art work and the foyer design. Far less Aladdin on the Treasure then the Fantasy.

I really don’t like the idea that people need to “get their money’s worth” on Disney Cruises. Some people just want to RELAX and that’s worth more money than filling your plate with shrimp at Cabanas or sitting through a show you have no interest in watching.
LOL. I totally agree. I do like some of the shows, but I pick and choose. Some cruises I may go to a few shows and some none. It depends on my mood. It has never occurred to me that I wasn't getting my moneys worth.
