Disney Desserts are yummy!!!

So in my latest trip to Disneyland California, we randomly went into the Cafe Oleans in the Blue Bayou district for dessert. We only saw two things on the menu so of course we had to order them both (actually we ordered them both "twice")

To our delight we found that the "Mickey" shaped Beignets were delightful, for those culturally lacking individuals out there who may be reading this, myself included , a beinget is something like a fried donut, it is topped with powdered sugar and served with a raspberry coulis (sauce) and vanilla creme anglaise (more sauce) for a surprising price of just $6.99
The Chocolate Crepe Souffle, the other option, is a flowerless chocolate crepe filled with raspberries all wrapped up and also served with raspberry coulis and whipped cream for just $6.99

I would probley try the first one but crepes arn't my fav. so i don't know... but i might get them for the kids and try a bite lol.......... Kids are the best they eat almost anything with chocolate so you can just take off of theres

I dont like the begnets as much there as I do the fritters you can get over at the mint julep bar...im not a crepe fan either but the chocolate one at CO is awesome..that chocolate flavor is really potent...

the beignets are pretty yummy!

My fave is when the french market has strawberry shortcake. I haven't had it since late last summer but goodness it was fabulous!

The mickey beignets at Cafe Orleans are absolutely yummy. We've only eaten there once and we ordered them for desserts and we finished them off rather quickly. I actually prefer them to the beignets at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen.

The crepe souffle sound delicious as well. DH and I love crepes.

Be wary of that fried cheese sandwich! If you have a sensitive stomach, it will more than likely rip havoc on you. LOL! We had it for dinner and the whole night my wife and I felt horribly ill, we ended up leaving early!

They are very yummy looking, I think they will be a must for my next trip. Yummy!!!!

You must be referring to the Monte Cristo aka heart attack on a plate. It's not a dessert, actually, it's a main dish/entree... Too rich and fattening for my blood too, although some people really like it...

OMG those sound soooo good! I don't think I had either last time...but I'll have to keep my eyes peeled next time!!!

I LOVE the pirate ship dessert you can get in the Blue Bayou - it's so yummy - but also incredible to look at! I didn't want to eat it...until I tasted it. Lol.

When we went I had the beignets, DH had the monte cristo, and DS had the mickey waffles.

DS ate all his fruit and his bacon. Kind of picked at the waffles. My beignets were gone quickly from all of us. DH's monte cristo was awful!! He tried to eat it - I think he choked down about 3 bites. He offered me one and I had to will myself to chew and swallow rather than spit it out. We did not enjoy it.

OTOH - the coffee there was superb!! We had the best coffee on the entire trip at Cafe Orleans. Second best was at our hotel continental breakfast, (Camelot Inn) as crazy as that may sound - I still have no idea what type of coffee they serve. I am positive it is not Nescafe though. And Third Best was at IHOP.

They fool you at the airport into thinking there are Starbucks everywhere. Once you hit the Disney area of Anaheim, you are stuck with mediocre coffee.

I finally did have a Tigger Tail though. And it was YUM YUM YUM!!
