I have dial up connection and need to keep my line clear. There is no change in my Dad's condition and after 26 hrs in the hospital they still claim the neck xrays haven't been read. Apparently all the Neuro Docs are in surgery so he has to wait until they get out to get any answers. When he was allowed to stand today he got very dizzy and had to sit. Every time he changes position he has a minute or two where everything just spins. We want answers!! I'm going back in a couple of hours. I spent 2 there this morning with 2 three year olds. They were very good though. My 10 year old has made himself sick worrying so I need to get him back up there to see his Papa. I will talk to a Doctor before I leave tonight or there will be some heads rolling. I think this is unacceptable.

(Don't want snow tomorrow, though, so our flight leaves ok :) )

Trust me ... you haven't experienced air travel until you have sat in a plave being de-iced ... and the de-icer comes oozing through the emergency exit!!!!

Until DH's accident, we always sat there. Now, because he has a cane, they won't allow it. Anyway ... we were in Boston ... getting de-iced and the stuf starts dripping on his arm! We call a stewardess ... and she say -- get this -- it's OK .. it's not supposed to be a tight seal! Nice! Now, how about some towelng to CLEAN UP! Dingbat!! (I usually have more patience with service people, but she was walking away without doing a thing!)

Is it a special recipe? Will you share?

Here's my pumpkin bread recipe. I've been making it since I was 15, and it always goes over big!

4 C. sugar
1 C. oil
5 C. flour
4 tp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbs. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 C. raisins
1 C. nuts (optional)

Mix together the sugar, pumpkin and oil. Add the flour, baking soda, salt, spices, rasins and nuts. Grease 3 large loaf pans and fill half full with batter. Bake for 1 hour at 325-350 degrees.

The loaves will raise during baking.

These are great served with cream cheese, or cream cheese frosting, but my kids like it best right out of the oven slathered with butter.

I hope you like it as much as my family does.

Ummmm ... so how much pumpkin???? LOL

Oh my goodness! I've got some pretty rediculous and/or lengthy air travel stories..... but that's nuts!

I also did not find out what we were having - I love the surprise of it!!

OK ... where's the surprise? As I pointed out to the doctor, it's either a boy or a girl! If it's something else, I really want to know!!!!

Keep on them! Does his primary care doctor have privlesges at this hospital? If not, keep him informed. People just fall through the cracks at hospitals .. and they need a squeaky wheel!!

Yeah ... I was freaked out already cause we were in Boston, and shortly before that, a plane skidded off the runway into the water!

Remind me to never fly with you .... :rotfl:

Just kidding. I'm glad you all were safe, and I would have been a little worried myself!

OK ... where's the surprise? As I pointed out to the doctor, it's either a boy or a girl! If it's something else, I really want to know!!!!

When I was in college my sister and my bf's sister had babies within a month of each other -

my sister didn't find out - and it was so much fun to have her come out of the delivery room and say come meet Brian and learning then what he was

his sister a compulsive planner found out - his dad called when she left for the hospital - and called several hours later to say - she had him - they are both fine - and we went back to studying -

in that circumstance - it just wasn't as exciting to me to know and that is when I decided to never find out -

now I loved the game of it - people would say - "are you havign a boy or a girl" and I would say - "yep!" or "do you know what you are having" and I would answer "we're pretty sure its a baby!"

then I loved to listen to people guess as to what I was having and their reasons -I know it is a surprise whenever you find out - but since I am not a compulsive planner -I just love the fun of it!!

Tammi and Elin - your snow pictures are just beautiful! I know you probably get sick of snow after a while, but those of us in the south that rarely see it just love it!

It's 19 days until Christmas and DH and I are finally able to go get our Christmas tree tonight - I have never waited this late to decorate before! It is at least somewhat seasonal temps in Dallas today. Anyone want to share some of your favorite Christmas memories?

I thought it was me -- I'm still catching up and didn't want to ask the question in fear that it had already been answered!! So thanks, I was going to ask!!

The irony of life..... Skunka wanted to know pretty bad and I didn't. So I agreed to let him find out, and we agreed that we wouldn't find out on our second child. Ironic isn't it??

I can't believe I did that! That's what you get for trying to post on the Dis, wrap presents with twins, and get lunch all at the same time.

You need 4 cups of pumpkin (one large can)

Sorry about that!

another perfect example of why a man should not get his way!!!

For all of you wishing for snow. Either stop now, or come to Utah and get some. It started snowing here in Alpine at 8:00 this morning and hasn't stopped since. I have at least 6 inches on my lawn. DS came trudging through the snow home from kindergarten with snow up to his knees. Poor guy. Finally the plows came through, but it was getting a bit hairy for a while. today is definitely a day to stay in and make something warm and yummy! I can't believe the schools haven't closed, but it would take at least 2 feet of snow on the ground before they'll do that here.

If you want it, come and get it!!! :cold:

Hey Marti -

what dates were you in WDW - I think we overlapped and didn't meet - how ridiculous is that?!!?
