I need to send a huge THANK YOU to MISS MISSY!!! We received 3 postcards from her today. Alyssa got one from Cinderella and Nicholas' was from Peter Pan. She also sent a "family" one. I will have to post copies of them when I get them scanned. Evidently she made them at home, before she left for her trip, and imposed Nicholas and Alyssa's picture (from my siggie) onto the card. The kids were thrilled! They are beautiful. Thank you soooo much, from the bottom of my heart.

I used mine online last week. Don't tell your DH that was an option, or he might be a little ticked!

Oh no! I didn' tknow it was an option! I sent him to get Sky High -- figuring it would be just about free. But it turns out we could only use $3 toward a CD or DVD.

So ..... then I remember the video game we have been wanting to buy -- but not able to find. Jimmy Neutron: Attack of the Twonkies. They're out too -- but getting more on Tuesday. Ugh. They have them in Washington if we're willing to pay shipping (NOT!). ugh And no, we cannnot pre-pay for it. ugh

I had DH check their return policy for unopened games, then told him to pick ANY GBA game at the same price. I'll go back next week and just swap the darn thing.

DH was impressed at my abilities. LOL Told me he never would have thought of that!

More than one way to get what I want!!!!

Just a quick note -- I think the boards were down LAST night from about 12:45 until ?? I gave up somewhere in the neighborhood of 3:00am. I wonder if they were doing it both days, or did they have the date wrong?? That's why it was so quiet last night.

Oh Kate, Skunka Hunka thought you had a good idea. Once our contract for our current DVC points are payed off, I could see buying some more. I can't complain though, we have 200. Whoever said once you go to a 1 bedroom, you won't go back IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!! For those that don't own DVC, it's the equivalent of - once you stay on Disney property, you won't go back. So thanks for us being able to look forward to something in about 10 years!!!!

Ya'll keep talking about the DVC and I really want to buy into it.....but......we always take large family vacations. If just my husband and I take a vacation with our boys then it is usually just a camping trip at Stone Mountain Park or weekend in Helen, GA. We went Daytona Beach this summer and with the whole "famn damily"......as I call it.....we need 3 condos each with 3 bedrooms. I just don't think it makes since with the large vacations that we always take together. For instance.....our Disney trip we are getting an 8bdrm villa in Formosa Gardens....offsite. Oh well.....I was just checking into it but I don't think it makes since for our family.

Well I survived the craft show. I did not sell much as was the concencus of most of the crafters. Many said their sales were down 50% over past years. There were hundreds of people there as it was breakfast with Santa complete with wagon rides. We happened to do the Wagon ride when Santa and Mrs. Claus did and Colby got to sit on Santas lap. He was soooooo happy. I set way on the other side of the wagon holding my nephew who is deathy afraid of Santa. He actually shakes if Santa gets too close. Guess I won't be taking him to Disney anytime soon. They had an ELF room which had 5 crafts for $2. As part of the craft fair I set up a silent auction to benefit the Cub Scouts. Each scout/parent donated and item or basket which we auctioned off. We had 19 items and made $239 which was all profit. That was an easy fundraiser and I would definately do it again. I had to work tonight so didn't get home until around 10 PM. The restarant that I work at has a small area where they allow employees and a few outside crafters to sell their items. We have been selling our Maple Syrup there for several months and she said that I can put some of my baby blankets there so I'm sure that they will all sell. (maybe I should hold on to one for Kevin and Amy ;), I may need a baby gift). Tomorrow I have got to straighten up my house, get my hair cut and be at work at 3:30 PM. Hopefully I'll find some DIS time. I actually played Disney Trivia with the boys when I got home tonight. It was late, but better late then never. Hunter whopped me as usualy. I keep telling him that he needs to use the adult questions too, but he says "Mom, I'm only 8".

Here's a question for you Lyn, and your whole fam damily (we use the same words!!).... I realize you are going to rent a whopper of a house so everyone could be together and sometimes that makes a lot of sense... but if you bought DVC and everybody wants to go, why do you HAVE to stay together? If you stayed somewhere with points, you could still do everything together, including big family meals at their condo, then drive home to your own beds and your own hot shower. And the points are usable in other places. In theory you could spend the night in NYC or go on an African safari. The thing to know is that your points go furthest at Disney. If my whole family were going to Disney, I'd do everything with them, and then LEAVE them so I could get some peace and quiet. You could also have one special cousin per night sleep at your place to make it special for the kids. Don't let any reason deter you from owning DVC. Anything is possible!!! (back me up here Kate).

Elin - I see you were on here posting at 6:30 so I guess that means that you didn't go down to the parade. At 4:45 we decided we would go. Needless to say we had to park far away, as in Chatham, and walk across the bridge. It was cold, but not as bad as I thought it would be, and we bundled up good. The kids liked it. Now Nicholas wants to play the drums and Alyssa wants to be a cheerleader!

Tammi -- glad the party went well.

As for the parade... I have been there, done that... for many years. We used to take Kathrin when she was a toddler, then I used to judge it, then we took Kathrin when she marched with Stafford HS, then we took Kristin when she was on floats. Now I get out of town as quickly as possibly on the Saturday of the parade! :rotfl: I have always said it would be just as easy to walk to the parade as to try to park. I assume you took FRED into town from Chatham?

Perfect night for a Christmas parade though! :goodvibes

Night all...

OK -- can someone give me the quick version of WHAT DVC is?

Ya know - sometimes we forget that not everybody knows every darn abbreviation!! It is really hard sometimes!! DVC stands for Disney Vacation Club. Once you join, you get to stay at the villas onsite using your points. It is a timeshare, but instead of staying one week each year, always being the same week, they allow you 150 points to purchase the time you want the way you want to use it. They have a grid that you refer to: If you want to stay Christmas week, you will use alot of points for about 5 nights. If you went in mid January, the same points would buy you a much longer stay. And it also depends on which resort you want to stay at. If you stay at one of the villas, your points go further than if you picked the Poly. Does it make sense? At the risk of boring everybody else (I know, too late) PM me or Kate, we are both DVC members and can answer your questions.
