If I'm not pregnant or have a newborn.

:goodvibes

Dawn, I'm going to have to wait until Sunday to watch Lost, because we'll be on the road tonight! :headache:

Which reminds me...I really should get back to packing.

I thought this was timely and hilarious (and no it didn't happen to me).

One year at Christmas my mom went to my sister's house for the traditional feast. Knowing how gullible my sister is, my mom decided to play a
trick.

She told my sister that she needed something from the store. When my
sister left, my mom took the turkey out of the oven, removed the stuffing,
stuffed a Cornish hen, and inserted it into the turkey, and re-stuffed the
turkey.

She then placed the bird(s) back in the oven.

When it was time for dinner, my sister pulled the turkey out of the oven
and proceeded to remove the stuffing. When her serving spoon hit
something, she reached in and pulled out the little bird.

With a look of total shock on her face, my mother exclaimed, "Patricia,
you've cooked a pregnant bird!"

At the reality of this horrifying news, my sister started to cry. It took the family two hours to convince her that turkeys lay eggs.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!!

This sounds like a great idea.
Has DS ever been in snow?
4-6 year olds love bubbles.
I think a pail & shovel would also be nice.
To dig in the snow with.
Will the kids be able to eat the snow?
You know they will. :crazy2:
I would love to play in the snow in 70 degree weather.
By the way I grew up In Illinois.
I'm not laughing @ you.
I think this would be great for a bunch of kids who haven't experienced snow.
DS has been in snow, but he's too young to remember. It snows here about every 7-10 years and the last time was New Year's Day, 2002. I happened to have my pictures out because I needed to send them to someone, so I'll post them here:

It snowed during the previous evening and night, so some of it had melted already.
The funny thing is LSU played against Illinois in the Sugar Bowl the night before (in New Orleans). The next day the local news had lots of people on from Illinois who were trapped here. We don't get snow much so this much shuts everything down, especially bridges. Since you can't really get out of NO without crossing a bridge, they were stuck. They thought it was hilarious that the roads were closed for such little snow!

It will be safe if they eat the snow because the machine is just a souped up sno-cone machine. You can buy a package where they make sno-cones, but I don't care to have them in February. It would be a nice treat in July when it's 100 degrees, though!

I can't wait for the party. I think I'm more excited than him, lol.

Ok ... major Mommy moment ...

I just got back from the doctor's. I had the chance to get a flu shot for DS - so I signed him up. Didn't' tell him before getting there ... or we never would have made it!!!!

So .. we get there and they tell me there is enough for me to get one too!

So, I'm the big wimp who now has to get a shot in FRONT of my kid!!

Who are they kidding?!?!

She asked if I wanted to go first -- I told her not if you want Ben to still take the shot!!!!

We needed another nurse to help me hold him. Jeez .. and I thought it sucked when he was a baby!!!

I made him hold ME when I got the shot. He decided I needed to be held VERY tightly too!

I hate the soreness in my arm!!!!!

I'm a HUGE baby!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!!

That is one of the funniest things I have ever heard (read). I would love to pull that, but DH wouldn't fall for it! My DN would, but DH has been in the biz too long.

Bengalbelle - good luck with your family planning. Since I will be 44 in 2007, if I had written that same sentence, it would have ended in this: :scared: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: (Plus DH would be suing the Dr. and divorcing me.) :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 .

That happened to us once in Nashville. There wasn't enough snow to make a snowball, and the city closed for two days. We had to wait it out at the Opryland Hotel. They were really big wusses about it too. P.S. Go Illini!!!!

Really, someone should have checked with us before putting Thanksgiving the day after Lost comes on. Thoughtless people! Don't they know people need to travel?

We went on a family trip (with DH's family) to WDW when Christopher was 4 months old. I swore I would NEVER do that again!!!
ETA: We went in June and it was really hot. None of our family wanted to watch him so there was a lot we couldn't do and it was our first trip. Now that I think about it, I wouldn't mind sitting with a baby and people watching :scratchin
