We are really just beginning to look into the DVC memberships so right now I now that DVC exists, but that is about the extent of my knowledge. We pay off our truck payment in 6 months so we would have the money to make a vacation club payment. Why stay out of debt when we can buy a little piece of Disney right. There going to end up with our money anyway. We seem to go at least every 18 months.

What is your home resort? Ours is WL but I wish it was BWV - we are thinking about selling and buying BWV - I want to book at 11 months and get the non-preferred view!!

Our first 150 points are at BCV and then we bought 50 more points resale at OKW. That's our favorite resort for so many reason. The extra 50 points allows us to book 11 months out.

You said it -- they're going to get your money anyway. Think of it this way, it lasts for about 40 years, and most people pay it off in under 10 years. That equals about 30 years of a free room in my lame head. I can justify anything that can be equated to free!!

we just stayed at WL for the first time and hated it!! Our last day - we went to the ESPN club and I started crying - I knew I didn't like WL but I didn't realize how BWV really is home to me!!!!!

but we LOVE LOVE LOVE BWV -

we just stayed at WL for the first time and hated it!! Our last day - we went to the ESPN club and I started crying - I knew I didn't like WL but I didn't realize how BWV really is home to me!!!!!

I bet I can put into words what you didn't like about WL... don't laugh, but for us it was the room decor. Don't get me wrong, its gorgeous, but it is very dark. All the lodge colors and the dark greens actually made us a little grumpy. The decor at the Beach Club and OKW is obviously brighter and beachier and that's what we want when we go on vacation. Not a dark hole that is better suited for a ski lodge in the mountains, not the sun and humidity of Florida.

They put those systems in the rooms so they AC doesn't work unless there is motion. So maybe they are trying to convince you it is cold, so they don't have to spend so much money on the AC.

Their food selections are not good either and for as close as it is to the MK - it took a stinking long time to get there!!

I love walking to Epcot and MGM!!!!

and this one is silly - but I felt so pampered at BWV - when you pull your car into valet - they were right there to help and by the end of the week - they knew us and I just felt pampered - at WL - I had to walk to the valet stand to get someone's attention a couple of times!!!

Actually in the villas of DVC, once you set the temperature, it is not hooked up to the motion sensor. At least not at OKW. But you're right, Disney will do anything to save a buck!!

ditto on the valet at beach club -- we knew all the valets by name and that was something special. It does make your vacation that much nicer to me.

The ONLY thing we miss when we stay at OKW is that you don't walk through a lobby to get to your room. We felt more in touch when we walked through a lobby (like at the deluxe hotels). If you had a question, you could ask a CM right away as you walked through the lobby. It led to more interaction with guests as well and we enjoy that.

Don't hit me up - I will never not use them!!! Why don't you convince DH to buy points when you are there?

My DH who ALWAYS regrets big purchases thinks it is the best thing we ever did!! Of course - Belle and Julia on the teacups sealed the deal!!!

yeah - you could hit us up to rent points - or you could get smart and join the DVC as well. For gosh sakes - you live on the East coast!!! You'll be down to Disney more often than you think... mark my words. Join the DVC and you will have your room paid for! AND you don't always have to go to a Disney resort (HUSH, did I just say that! I hope I'm not banned!!)
